In Forest school this week the Year 1 children had lots of fun. They learnt about all the Autumn fruits that are in our school grounds. They made bracelets out of elder wood wearing a glove on their helping hand. They also enjoyed swinging in the hammock in the autumn sunshine!

What a fabulous first day our super little learners in Reception have had today! Happy, excited, confident, inquisitive - we couldn’t have hoped for a better start to school life! A huge well done to you all. 😊
❤️✨Mrs Brownsey’s Retirement ✨❤️
On Thursday, all of the children snook out onto the school field to surprise Mrs Brownsey for her birthday! Mrs MacLeod set the fire alarm off to lure her out of the building! The children loved watching Mrs Brownsey complete her Bushtucker Trials in the assembly and they loved singing all of the special songs! A few weeks ago, whilst Mrs Brownsey was out of school, we all gathered in a heart shape on the field whilst a drone shot some amazing footage that we could give to Mrs Brownsey on her retirement! We knew this would be a wonderful way that she could remember us all here at St. Joseph’s!
❤️Mrs Brownsey’s Retirement❤️
The staff and children of St. Joseph’s all enjoyed a very special and memorable week of celebrations and festivities as we all wished Mrs Brownsey well with her retirement. Last Saturday the staff had a fantastic evening at Albert’s with delicious food, cocktails and dancing! On Thursday the whole school celebrated Mrs Brownsey’s retirement and birthday with a lovely picnic on the field. Then, finally, we all treated Mrs Brownsey to a very special ‘I’m a Headteacher Get Me Out of Here’ assembly on Friday morning! The assembly was filled with songs, laughter, memories, exciting trials and was even hosted by none other than, Ant and Dec themselves! What a wonderful week and a great send off for Mrs Brownsey as she begins her retirement.
🧸Our new starters had so much fun with their buddies at the Teddy Bears’ Picnic yesterday. It was wonderful to see the start of such lovely friendships! 🧸

Year six were not deterred by the rain in Forest School today. We made a fire and cooked sausages and boiled water for some hot vimto! The children practised using a firesteel and whittled their own sausage skewer. They also made a tribe flag with mud paint!
Autumn has given us such wonderful learning opportunities this week.🎃🍁🍂
Great job Reception! What a lovely way to start our new half term in school. 😊
