Congratulations to our P7 pupils who participated today in the South Armagh section of the Cumann na mBunscol 5 aside Indoor Camogie Competition in Silverbridge Resource Centre. Our sincere thanks to Shane Hughes for efficiently refereeing all the matches. Our girls displayed great defending and striking skills and enjoyed all four matches. Today the nursery class went to visit Santa at Sleigh Bell cottage, Burren. We had a wonderful day! We were so excited to go on a Bus again. When we got there, Mrs Claus and her elf helped us to colour in and to make some reindeer food for Santas reindeer, finished off with magic dust ✨ After that, we made our way in to see Santa who confirmed that we are all on the nice list this year!🎅🏻 Santa was joined by silly Rudolph who tried to drive the bus home!!...

Today the Nursery class made the walk over the bridge to the Spar Mullaghbawn. We went to the post office at the back of the shop where we were greeted by Grainne. We bought a stamp, placed it in the top right corner and posted our letter to Santa. We really hope he lets us know if we are on the nice list - our teachers are sure we are!...

Congratulations, to everyone who took part in the Michael J Murphy, Winter School Art competition. Inspired by the words of the song/poem "The Boys of Mullaghbane" pupils drew scenes from the poem, including drawings of Jackson's Folly, Forkhill House, country views and scenes of emigration. A Chara, Please see the attached flyer for more details on the final session in Parentline’s series of workshops on how parents can support their children through their formative years. This session focuses on fussy eating and will take place on Friday 1st December at 10am on Zoom Dr Kirsty Porter a Children’s Dietitian from Nutrition4kidsNI will deliver this session. Our P6 Year Group kicked off Anti-Bullying Week early, with a workshop yesterday with HIP Psychology. They learned that "Bullying" can take many forms but is always, intentional, repeated and hurtful behaviour. They know that like the Irish Rugby Team, as a Year Group we should have each other's back. When something is wrong, we should speak out and tell a trusted adult what we have seen and heard....

P5/6 Stone Age Tour of South Armagh - St. Mary's Primary School 10/11/2023

P5/6 spent the morning touring local sites of interest from the Stone Age with local historian, Una Walsh, from the Rural Health Partnership. The children visited Ballykeel Dolmen and Annaghmare Court Cairn. They learned about the history of the area and how stone age people created and used these structures. This followed on from a classroom based session with Una on Tuesday afternoon....
