A huge well done to all the team today! A fantastic half in the end against Buckingham Golf Club. Zac was out number one again and won, against another 5 handicapper!! And Brandon and Kyle won their games on the last hole!! Everyone put in a very professional performance and represented the academy and Windmill Hill Golf Centre really well!!! Great job and great day for the squad!

The TGB Elite Winter Series Tournament at Brampton Heath Golf Centre was won on countback by Joel Gosling from Abbey Hill Golf Centre. Joel aged 16 won with a score of 83 (+11) in extremely tough conditions. Joel won the Elite Order of Merit in 2015 and is looking to try to keep his name on the shield for 2016.

Runner up and just missing out on the win on countback was Brandon Sanders from Windmill Hill Golf Centre. Brandon aged 14 also shot a gross 83 (+11) which meant he shot a nett 69 (-3). Brandon was the only person in the field to score under his handicap and as a result won the nett prize as well! Brandon started playing when he was 10 years old and still really enjoys the game. He is looking to continue to get his handicap down and start hitting shots like his golfing idol Luke Donald.

The nett Runner up with a nett score of 74 (+2) was fellow Windmill Hill Golfer Zac Nash. Zak only missed out on the gross by 3 shots so I think we will be seeing more good score from him in the future.

At all tournaments we do two nearest the pin and two longest drive competitions. The longest drives were held on the 3rd and 6th hole, the nearest the pin was on the 16th and the nearest the pin in 2 was on the 18th.

Winner of the longest drive on the 3rd was JR Ellis from Aspley Guise Golf Club and on the 6th was Daniel Brown from Windmill Hill Golf Centre.

Nearest the pin on the 16th hole was Jospeh Amer from Abbey Hill Golf Centre.

Nearest the pin in 2 on the 18th hole was won by Zac Nash from Windmill Hill Golf Centre.

The Windmill Hill Centre of Golfing Excellence TOBIA Academy team competed in their very first friendly match over the weekend against a seasoned Leighton Buzzord side. The team displayed exceptional golf and maintained very professional attitudes during the highs and the lows of the match. They fought well and learnt many new skills within this valuable experience . A huge congratulations to everyone for competing with such strength and hunger for success. A big well done to Daniel and Brandon as Daniel won his match comfortably which was very fitting as it was his birthday and Brandon fended off his opponent and stopped him from winning by displaying fantastic resilience winning the final hole to halve. Leighton B have invited us to their course for another game which we will kindly accept and the team cannot wait to play many more matches over the winter in order to get everything in place for the start of the Vale League.
