On Friday 5th July our year 6 children held a fundraiser called "Summer Bash For Humanitas". They put lots of effort into this and it was a great success. Thank you to everyone that came, a lot of fun was had and an amazing £379 was raised for Humanitas.
Well done to all the children and staff who helped make this such an amazing event.

Operating as usual
On Thursday 27th June a group of children took part in Catholic Sports Day and we are delighted to report that St Bernadette's were the overall winners of the event. We won 22 out of 36 track events, 6 out of 8 relays and 11 out of 12 tug of wars. A massive well done to all the children who took part and all of the staff that supported them.
On Friday our year 6 children went to Gulliver’s Land. They had a great time.
Last week our year 3 children went to Oak Grove school to look at the bee hives they have there. The children got all suited up and were able to see the bees in action. The students also got to take part in honey tasting.
Yesterday was our annual speech cup finales. Everyone who performed did an amazing job and should be so proud of themselves. This years talent was outstanding. The judges had an extremely difficult job in choosing winners due to the level of excellence.

Key stage 1 was Adelina from Saplings Bernadette’s
Key stage 2 was Damien from Panda class.

Last week St Bernadette’s was invaded by dinosaurs. Our Sapling children enjoyed there Dinomania session and got to get up close to some dinosaurs while learning lots of information from the dino rangers.

Year 1 & 2 art club had the topic of flowers. The children recreated Van Gogh’s sunflowers, by each painting a piece of the picture. Look out for our next school project in the main window soon!
Last week Mr Smith, Mrs Lowe and Mrs Potter created a mini pond to keep in the school to keep some of frogspawn in. We have been documenting the progress.

This week our Sapling and Acorn children had a very special visitor. The children were thrilled to see Father Christmas and each class performed a song for him. It was a great start to our last week before Christmas.
Caritas – Love Christmas Campaign
Once again, we are overwhelmed by the heartwarming generosity of our whole school community. We managed to put together
50 Bags of Kindness, which will be distributed throughout the diocese to those in need in the coming days. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated. Huge thanks to the Community Mini Vinnies who helped Mrs Potter to organise and pack the bags before they were collected by a Caritas volunteer.
Well to both year 1 classes for your amazing nativity this week. It was a terrific show. Thank you to all the staff involved in the performance.

Yesterday some of our choir had the opportunity to sing at the Woburn Sands Christmas light switch-on. Thank you to the children who sang they sounded absolutely beautiful. Thank you to everyone who came to support us.

We hope you have all enjoyed seeing our beautiful whole school remembrance art project which is displayed on the main hall window. All children took part in this and I am sure you can agree it is truly amazing.
As a whole school we took part in an autumn art project, every child from Acorns to year 6 made something that is now on display.

On Sunday 5th November, we were so proud of all the children and families that came along to Christ the King Church to celebrate Catholic Education and Catholic Schools. We were delighted to lead the readings, prayers and hymns. It was such a joyous celebration. Thank you to all the families that attended- we were so grateful for your support.
