Walton Nursery

It's been a week of planting, painting and creating. We've made use of the pumpkins that were carved last week to plant seeds, used cardboard tubes to create fabulous fireworks pictures, and created colour patterns with our pattern boards and linking fish.

Our children are looking at shapes this week, sorting them into tins, looking for circles in the lucky dip box and playing shape sorting games. They are also learning to pour their own milk at snack time. Artwork has included making fireworks pictures using printing and sticking.

Chalk colouring, making autumn baskets, colour sorting and paint stamping pumpkin pictures have been included our activities this week.

It's been another busy week! We've been looking at self care, along with mark-making, messy play and enjoying bubbles - I wonder how they taste?

A huge thank you and well done to everyone who donated to our Harvest Festival collection. This will be donated to our local Food Bank.

It might be cold, but it doesn't stop us going out to explore our fabulous surroundings. Our nursery children took advantage of a dry day to go out and have a look at the autumn colours and some bridges

This week we're looking at the colours black and white, using them to create some interesting artwork. We're also learning about rhythm in our music lessons, and having fun with our friends both outdoors and in

Autumn has arrived, and it's a great excuse to explore the colours, textures and smells that go with it. The children have been getting creative with paints, play dough, cardboard tubes and felt tip pens.

Our Jumping Jacks sessions are taking a two week break, but we'll be back as normal from THURSDAY 2nd NOVEMBER. Dinosaurs, the colour green, a tiger teddy bear's tea party, books, exploring the local area, creating crafts, and making the most of the autumn sunshine - it's been a busy week for our nursery children so far!

Exploring in our nature trail is a firm favourite, especially in the autumn sunshine. And look, we've even found some toadstools!

4th October is World Animal Day, and our children are working on their topic of animals, so what better reason for dressing up! Take a look at the amazing animals we have created for our display of jungle animals.

Making the most of the Autumn sunshine! Some of our children have been exploring in the nature trail - even finding the odd mouse hiding in the pallet stack!

Friday morning means some of our children are cooking. Learning how to mix and roll, and finding out about textures and flavours. It's so much fun tasting our work when it's done!

We are seeking to appoint a part time Kitchen Assistant. Hours are 8:00am - 2:00pm, 46 weeks per year. Previous experience of working in a kitchen is preferable but not essential.
Assisting our cook with preparing meals and snacks in a nursery environment. Includes washing up, some baking. Full training will be given.

Playscheme gives us a chance to do some fabulous fun activities. We've had a transport day, when we brought in our bikes and scooters, we've done bubble painting, and we've even put our small characters in the freezer!

It's our last Jumping Jacks of the term today, as we're breaking for the summer.

We're incredibly lucky to have a fabulous pond where we can go pond dipping and learn all about the wildlife that lives there.

Today is International Day! The children have been exploring other countries and cultures, including Spain and Italy, where they looked at flags, food and traditional costumes. Children were encouraged to wear outfits from different countries.

All ready for Grandparents day! We're looking forward to welcoming you in.

It's National Outdoor Learning Day, and we're taking advantage of the glorious weather for some serious outdoor fun - playing, exploring, laughing, reading, jumping, smiling, hiding, splashing, sharing.

Our topic this term is The Circus, and our children have been exploring all the wonderful activities this entails while enjoying our outdoor space

It's Coronation Party day at Walton, and we managed to have our party lunch just before the rain arrived to wash us away!

Our topic this half term is transport, and we had a visit from some fabulous Police officers with their vehicles. They let us climb all over, turn on the lights, and even wake everyone up with the sirens!

It's playscheme week, and we've been making the most of the Spring sunshine, doing chalk artwork on the pavements, and making some Easter artwork while the rain comes down

Spring has arrived at Walton, and our children have been making the most of the change in temperature. Our younger children are learning about animals this term, and were encouraged to dress as their favourite animal for Topic Morning.

This term some of our children are learning all about animals, so today we've had the wonderful Animal Edge in for the children to spend time with.

We are seeking to appoint a full time (8:30-5:30) Nursery Assistant. Previous experience of working in a nursery is preferable but not essential.
Our Nursery staff help provide a safe, warm and friendly environment for the children placed in our care. Applicants should display a genuine desire to work with children and be an excellent communicator.
