This app is called TOPICAL SCRIPTURE REFERENCE. We aim to provide a reference study that unlocks the deep things of prophecy and deeper understanding of various topics that one might seek from the bible.
We do this by providing as many texts as possible that apply to any given topic. Where others have frequently done this, using the obvious texts, we aim to go one step further and include the texts that also apply to a topic that are not immediately obvious or that can only be known by an understanding of biblical symbols and a correct interpretation of prophecies. For those new to the faith, they will thus be blessed with a more wholesome study from the get go.

The app will be updated with possible new features and content over time.

God did not actually need any sacrifices to forgive us!

In almost all religions people sacrifice animals to appease their gods. Christianity is different:

Christians often mistakenly think that God required a sacrifice for Him to be able to forgive us. This is not true...God can easily forgive us with no sacrifice; the purpose of the sacrifice was actually for another reason.

The sacrifice was actually for us. Human nature is selfish. For example, if I don't discipline my child for selfish behaviour then he will not change his ways. I need to make sure therefore that there are consequences for his behaviour.

God has to do the same with us. We have to see that there has been a consequence for our negative behaviour. We see this as the death, poverty and suffering in the world and also through the animal sacrifices and Jesus' sacrifice. Our job is to look at Jesus' sacrifice and accept that it is the consequence of our sins. If we refuse to accept this then God knows that we will not change our behaviour. In the same way, if I punish my child and he refuses to accept that the punishment is due to his bad behaviour, then he will not change his ways. He is being stubborn/hard hearted and refusing to accept the true extent of the wrongness of his actions. He will therefore not have the correct level of sympathy for the pain selfishness causes others and not feel the need to change his behaviour.

Here we see that it is not God that required the sacrifices, but ourselves. The difference may seem subtle, but it is extremely important for our understanding. You see many have misunderstood this and thought that they could sin as much as they wanted, as long as they then made a sacrifice or said that they put their sins on Jesus. This is also how "indulgences" and "penance" work. However, the sacrifice has no value in itself unless it makes the person accept the truth and be sorry/repentant for what they did.

Only if we look at Jesus and say "this is such an awful consequence of my actions, I feel so sorry for Jesus and I want God to help me not to sin again". Only with this mentality will God actually forgive us, because this is the only mentality that will make us want to allow God to help us never to sin in heaven. If God forgave us and we didn't have this mentality then we would continue sinning in heaven...(these people will obviously not be permitted to enter heaven).

THIS IS ACTUALLY A HEALTH POST. What does this have to do with health you ask...well this means that the animal sacrifices never actually pleased God and they weren't even for God. If we were actually supposed to look at the killing of the animal as a horrendous and horrible thing to happen to the animal and be full of so much sorrow that our sins caused this; then we would beg God to help us not to sin again so that eventually we would never have to kill an animal again...then how in the earth does that mentality fit in with willingly killing animals for the gratification of our appetites? Eating animals desensitises ourselves to the pain that sin causes. I'm not saying this to judge anyone that eats meat, I say it because it is very important for us to understand that meat eating has desensitised us to the empathy we should feel toward other beings, beings that suffer to encourage us to beg God to help us never to sin again.

A word on fats:

It is utterly shocking that Ellen White made this statement, because we only now truly understand it!:

"Butter is less harmful when eaten on cold bread than when used in cooking; but, as a rule, it is better to dispense with it altogether."—The Ministry of Healing, 302, 1905 – {CD 349.3}

Fats are essential for our health. We know that we get too little omega 3 fat. We also hear that coconut fat is the best to cook with.

Ellen white actually alludes the reason herself. She states that to heat butter (a fat) is to make it less healthy.

This is because when you heat the butter, it oxidizes (which then increases your risk for cancer).

When we look at the fats that are most likely to oxidize we see something that may seem quite disturbing...vegetable fats are the most prone to oxidising!

This is because vegetable fats are more often "unsaturated". This means not all of its bonds are used up. This makes it more likely to be liquid (rather than a solid butter) and also more able for our enzymes to digest it;

Unfortunately these spare bonds also mean that there are bonds that oxygen can attach itself to (and therefore oxidise it).

Surprisingly omega 3 is one of these unsaturated and therefore easily damaged fats!

The answer is to cook with a saturated fat. However, we are also told that saturated fats are bad for us. This is not however universally true. Long chain saturated fats are bad for us, but not medium chain saturated fats. Medium chain fats are rare, and coconut fat/oil seems to be the best source.

We do still however need omega 3. The answer is not to take this in a free oil form (as a liquid oil), but to have it in its combined form, such as ground h**p or flaxseeds. Those omega 3 pills you buy on shelves have been shown to be likely oxidised, and therefore not provide the omega 3 benefit.

If all else fails...use olive oil!
