We're all set up with Gala Performance at Autosport International Show in Hall 2, right by the front door.

We'll be offering help and advice around digital marketing for drivers and teams in motorsport for the next few days. We're very excited to be taking GEM on the road properly for the first time.


We're very excited to be making our Autosport International Show debut this week, as guests of our colleagues at Gala Performance.

We will have a presence on Stand 2775, and Ryan will be there to offer help and advice to racing drivers and teams around how to get the best out of their digital marketing efforts, which should help them to be more attractive to sponsors, and is absolutely vital in motorsport.

The show Thursday - Sunday, with the first two days reserved for Trade Customers and the weekend open to all visitors.

We love to make a seasonal event video here at GEM, and one of our favourite times of year for getting creative for our client Gala Tent is at Christmas.

For the past few years, we've made a typically emotive, John Lewis-type Christmas film for them, and we like to do it all ourselves as a bit of something special.

This year is no different, and our latest film 'The Hand of Friendship' features all of the GEM team in one way or another, whether in front of the camera or behind it.

Itโ€™s an exciting time here at GEM HQ. As we have officially launched our very first video course, via the hugely popular educational video platform, Udemy.

The power of video on all social media has grown bigger and bigger, and it is a massive part of many business marketing strategies. A product video can be anything from a 15 second glimpse at a newly launched product to an immersive AR walk-through of a full showroom - what it must do well, is engage your prospects.

In the digital age, people don't need to visit bricks and mortar shops anymore to see the products they might like to buy (although they should, to support small businesses!), and it's up to you as the online retailer to use your images and videos to present your products in the best possible light.

Here are three things you should do when you deliver a video for your products:

* Show the product close up - get into all of the components and highlight the quality. If people cannot touch the item, then give them as close a look as possible.

* Talk about the features - the product video is essentially a transportable sales pitch. Tell your visitors and viewers what your products can do and how. Use the video to show the features in action!

* Sell the benefits - do not infodump all of the features without saying *how* they can help to solve a problem, or *why* they are important. People often need to be told which of their potential problems can be solved by a product or service.

Your product video can be a global sales pitch, and you'll need to make it a reflection of the quality of the good or services themselves. After all, if you don't put the effort into representing your stuff well, how can customers be expected to see the effort that's gone into the quality of the products?

With 99,000 Google searches every SECOND, and 67% of those searches resulting in a click on one of the Top 5 results, it is vital that your brand is fighting it out for your relevant search terms, otherwise you are missing out on valuable web traffic, which then affects your leads, engagements, and ultimately your revenues. But how do you do it?

SEO is a minefield of algorithmic updates, technical and content requirements, but one thing which is unlikely to change is Google's requirement for E-A-T, which is a method of helping to avoid websites that appear to be trying to play the system with keyword dumping and cookie cutter content.

E - Expertise - when you write articles, don't write fluff pieces that have little nutritional value. Write and post content which shows you're an expert in your field. Write new and interesting angles on old topics.

A - Authoritativeness - authority in your subject is similar to Expertise in terms of the content you write, but if you are able to secure links back from other bigger websites with strong authority, citing your article or your website, then Google sees you as a bigger authority in your field. Write articles with the intention of sending them to online publications and powerhouses, who might use them in their own articles, referencing your site as the source.

T - Trustworthiness. Maintaining an honest About Us section and embedding Google Maps into your website with directions to your building will help. Having back links from other websites shows that they have trust in what you're all about. If they have trust in you, this increases Google's perceived trust of you too.
