We have two weeks of fun plan with dates available below

Week 1

Dates: Tuesday 15th April to Friday 18th April
📍 Location: 3rd Newton Scout Hut, Hyde

From exciting games and outdoor challenges to woodland crafts and nature-based activities, your child will enjoy a holiday packed with fun, learning, and laughter.

💫 Reflecting on a great week at with our alternate provision students.

C has made great progress and this week worked alongside holly_lous_bbq to look into catering and started planning a campfire cooking meal 🥘 I can’t wait to see the results 🍗

Plus both C & N are starting there ASDAN gardening award which will see them working on a community project 👍👍 and receive a certificate.

Our out of school club had a great time up at Werneth Low Country Park this evening.

We started an explorer award where the children have to achieve a target 🎯 each session! Today was natural den building.

Plus we had loads of fun and sun ☀️ brilliant event and thank you all that attended.

Out of school Club - Outdoor Fun, Skills, and Achievement! 🌲

The our bushcraft award club is an exciting, hands-on program designed to help children explore the wonders of nature, develop valuable outdoor skills, and achieve new heights of personal growth! Each term, children will work through different levels, earning a new award badge along the way, such as Bushcraft, Trekker, Wild Warrior, and more!

🌿 How it Works:
• Every term offers a new challenge, with children progressing through levels to unlock new skills.
• Each term, a different themed award is introduced, focusing on different aspects of outdoor adventure:


Sessions run on Thursdays after school during term time, lasting for 5 weeks

At Werneth low country park between 4:15-5:30pm

Pay per week, giving flexibility for your child’s participation.

A great day with a few students at Grip education.

We completed and finished off some birdhouses ready for there new locations.

Why birdhouses ?

A simple project like this introduces young people to STEM in a fun, engaging way while developing practical skills they can carry forward. Plus, they get to see their work make a real impact in nature!

Today at wild academy we started our ASDAN award !!

Looking into environmental activities and deciding on a project for the community to benefit.

Children will meet us at Werneth low country park for 4:30 then head into the woods for some fun and learning !

Our Bushcraft Award is the perfect way for children to get outdoors, explore nature, and develop real-life survival skills—all while earning certificates!

🏕️ How It Works:
Each term, children will work towards a new certificate, building skills such as:
🔥 Fire lighting & safety
🏗️ Shelter building
🍃 Foraging & cooking
🔍 Nature awareness & tracking

📖 Building a Portfolio:
Every participant will create their own Bushcraft Portfolio, documenting their journey with photos, activities, and achievements. By the end of the programme, they’ll have a record of their progress and skills to be proud of!

It’s a fun and hands-on way to learn about the great outdoors, build confidence, and earn recognition for their achievements.

We are delighted that our Wild Academy Alternative Provision has been registered with the ASDAN award programme, Centre number: 42295

The ASDAN award is a nationally recognised qualification that recognises personal skills and achievements.

What are ASDAN awards for?
To help learners develop their skills and confidence
To help learners progress to further education, training, and work
To help learners take control of their lives

Our first certificate will be the ENVIRONMENTAL SHORT COURSE and is aimed at secondary children between 12-19 years old.

They are also adapted to suit those with additional needs or extra support and can be completed in their own time.

Rain rain came today!! 🌧️

Well it was a mixed day of weather 🌦️ at the holiday camp today but it didn’t stop the fun.

We had an indoor mine hunt, dens that lasted the winds 💨 and a ton of fun 🤩

That’s a wrap for the week!

A massive thanks to our instructors Joe and Brooke who have been amazing 🤩 all week and the children who have made it all worth while.

🌟 part 2 of another holiday camp ⛺️

Today we had mini woodland homes built for Harriet the hedgehog 🦔 plus games in the woods.

The rain 🌧️ didn’t stop play when you have tents and dens!! Great day with all and I hope as tired as me 😂

A brilliant day with our BushKids at the activities camp.

A tad chilly 🥶 to start with but opened up into a beautiful day with dens being built, leaves being racked! And a fire being built.

The kids did it all and more, thanks to all who came and the kids for tiring me out 😴 same again tomorrow

A great morning out with our SEND- Venture group this morning and trying out orienteering !

The SEND-venture is open to all children but we try and have an inclusive and safe space for children with needs, so we keep the sessions small grouped and with as much time as needed to learn and play in a fun environment

Thank you all that came and to Werneth Low Country Park who make this magic 🪄 happen.

BRAVE THE COLD TOMORROW 🥶

Tomorrow morning we will be running our send-venture orienteering Challenge at Werneth low country park

All are welcome however this session will be a small group one especially to be inclusive and supportive for all children and there parents / carers

We will be teaching about mapping in the area and walking a path to find our hidden checkpoints! With all children receiving a try orienteering certificate at the end.

This is a FUN and CHALLENGING morning which will finish at the cafe ready for a hot chocolate ☕️ or cake 🍰

Looking for a fun, inclusive outdoor activity for your little explorers? Join us this Sunday, 16th Feb, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Werneth Low Country Park for a family orienteering session designed especially for children aged 5-12!

This session is SEN-friendly, making it the perfect opportunity for families with children who have additional needs to meet new friends, build confidence, and enjoy nature together. Everyone is welcome—come and navigate the trails, discover hidden markers, and enjoy a morning of adventure with us!

🌿🔥 Nature Beanz Adventures – Out of School Club! 🔥🌿

Tonight, our young adventurers got hands-on with whittling skills, crafting their own marshmallow sticks! It’s amazing to see their confidence grow as they learn real bushcraft and survival skills in a fun, safe environment.
