Latin Band Havana Good Time is a group of enthusiastic musicians based in West London who get together to play Afro-Cuban and Latin Jazz for dancers listeners and anyone who wants to enjoy the infectious rhythms of salsa. mambo, cha-cha-cha, and other tropical music, bringing a touch of Cuban sunshine to George IV. The 15 piece band features three singers, three saxophones, trumpet, two guitars and a Latin rhythm section with piano, bass, congas, timbales, bongos, guiro, clave etc etc. delivering Buena Vista favourites alongside Tito Puente classics and modern salsa tunes. Come and listen to us and we might even be able to get your feet moving!

You don't need to look like anyone else.
Frankie says so.
While you are admiring them, someone else is admiring you.
People don’t want to feel like they’re being forced to become a clone, yet somehow they only support the people and things that are clone-able.
I call it passive cloning.
My method for training dancers doesn’t allow for this. But in order for me not to make you a clone, you have to do the work.
And therein lies the problem.
We’re in love with the idea of self-improvement and of finding our own voice, but not in love with the process it takes to get there.
And contrary to how many Latin dance professionals respond to this obstacle, it’s not the role of the educator to sacrifice the process. It’s our responsibility to find creative ways of offering it in spite of it.
This begins by understanding the difference and relationship between style and technique.
A helpful way to look at this is to consider technique like our DNA and personal style as how that DNA presents in an individual.
Just like in all families, you can always see the common thread between relatives (technique). But there will also be differences in how each individual presents and expresses them (style).
Although I may not be copied as often as I have in the past, the dancers who have attempted to imitate me and looked like clones were almost never students I trained.
From the dancers in my professional company to my long time students, you can usually trace their technical processes back to the method I used to train them; however they will always look like themselves executing it.
The reality is, dance professionals who produce carbon copies are usually not doing so intentionally, but out of their own limitations. Cloning happens when we implement a method that doesn’t allow for an individual’s personality to find its way into the dance.
And unfortunately, this is all too common in our present day scene.

Local bus routes: 4, 134, 390 and N20. Several more routes terminate at Kentish Town Station and Archway Station.
PARKING
There is parking located in circumference of the venue. Parking is allowed on single yellow lines after 6:30 PM (Saturdays after 1:30PM). Parking bays are also located around the Venue. Outside the Congestion Charge zone.

With over 20 years experience in the international salsa scene, Saori and her Bachata partner Alex were given the honor of becoming the co-directors of the Bangkok Touch Team in September 2013 and also the Ladies Touch Bangkok in 2014, which is part of the global Island Touch Dance Academy brand headed by international bachata superstars Jorge and Tanja (Ataca y La Alemana) and DJ El Tiguere.
In 2015 she started her very own Salsa Ladies Team, Las Chicas Salsalicious (pro team) and Las Hermanitas Salsalicious (student team).
She began dancing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2001. Having lived in many places since, she has managed to carry and nurture her passion for salsa dancing to French Polynesia, New Caledonia, London, Japan, Bermuda, Laos and Bangkok, Thailand where she currently resides. While in London from 2005 to 2007, Saori learned her smooth and graceful style and technique. Upon returning to Japan in 2007, she shared her new found skills by co-founding her own dance school called Miyasaru (Utsunomiya Salsa). When she moved to Bermuda in 2010, she joined the local group Sea Breeze Salsa (now Ming Mambo) where she had the opportunity to meet and first train and perform with Jorge and Tanja of Island Touch. A year later and living in Luang Prabang, Laos, she brought salsa to the quiet town by offering salsa classes and hosting the weekly Salsalicious Wednesday night parties. Since moving to Bangkok in 2012, Saori continues to dance and teach Salsa On2 for Recipe of Salsalicious and Bachata for Bachata On Mondays.
Aside from her endeavors as a student, instructor and performer, Saori is a true global salsa and bachata dance ambassador who simply loves to be on the dance floor. She has attended numerous congresses and festivals around the world including Berlin, Paris, Greece, London, New York, LA, Vancouver, Romania, India, and all over Asia.

Are you surprised as well? The Government has taken a super cautious approach and surprised everyone with a 4-week extension to "Freedom Day". Fingers crossed, they will be lifting restrictions completely by the 19th of July. So we have had to reschedule all our clubs' opening times again.
