Victoria and Albert Museum East Director, Gus Casely-Hayford, visited BCE once again ahead of the upcoming opening of the V&A East Storehouse later this year.
The V&A team brought along an incredible selection of pieces for our students to explore. They also had the chance to learn how they can engage with the new V&A East and Storehouse to enhance their creative growth and development.
The V&A East Storehouse will bring half a million works of art, spanning every era, discipline, and corner of the globe, closer to the public. Visitors will have the opportunity to request access to specific pieces and work firsthand.

We celebrated International Women's day and LGBTQ+ History month with a special quiz for staff and students to learn more about both events. 🚺🏳️🌈
Video Engineer and Programmer Arthur came in t speak with Media learners about their career, sharing tips to get into the industry and providing feedback on students work. 📷📽️
Music Publisher and A&R manager Ben came in to give advice and tips for getting into the industry as well as fielding questions from students on a Q&A session. 🎤🎶

Big Sleep Out
For one night students and staff will be swapping the comfort of their beds for a sleeping bag on the ground - all to raise a targeted £3000 for Centrepoint, a charity dedicated to tackling youth homelessness.
The Big Sleep Out is not about replicating rough sleeping but rather about raising awareness and crucial funds to help young people without a safe place to call home.

Yalin from Filmique explored Ai in film making working with learners to create their own Ai film based in a Norse setting.
Grey Face Media spoke to learners about indie game development and the importance of Games Testing during production.

Our talented students are one week into work experience abroad! With Third Sector International and Twin Employment & Training. 50 students across 3 exciting trips to Barcelona & Valencia have immersed themselves in their fields of study are gaining invaluable hands-on experience. 💼🎨🎭🎮

Students from Games Design and T-Level courses visited Sagrada Familia, met with industry expert David Darnes from GameGi, and presented their Games Design Projects. An inspiring week of creativity and industry insight!
🇪🇸 Valencia Week 1
Meanwhile, our Art & Design, Performing Arts, Media, Animation, and Next Gen students explored Valencia’s cultural wonders! From Spanish lessons, Tutankamon La Inmersiva, Circus Training, to the stunning Cathedral of Valencia and an eye-opening Street Art Tour, they truly soaked in the local vibes!
