Forest and Bridge Site's Christmas parties will be on FRIDAY 16th DECEMBER. Nursery's Christmas parties will be on THURSDAY 15th DECEMBER.
Dear Parents/Carers
School will be open tomorrow Tuesday 13th December.
Please see below some important adjustments that have had to be made to ensure this is possible:
1. Breakfast club has been cancelled for tomorrow Tuesday 13th December to ensure that there is enough time to grit and make the site safe.
2. Forest site Nursery will enter through the normal entrances.
3. Forest Site year Reception, 1, 2 & 3 will all come in through the drive way entrance on Corbett Road and enter through the middle red doors, children will all be dropped off at the door and staff will ensure that children are got round to their class. Gates will open at the normal time but the doors will also be open at the same time to help with the congestion. Please bare with us on getting everyone in as it may take a little longer than normal.
4. Bridge Site all years will enter through the Wood Street gate at the normal time and children will enter the school through the office, staff will ensure children get to class. Again please bare with us as this may take a little longer than normal.
5. Teatime club will be open as normal tomorrow.
An email will be sent during the day on where to collect your children from as it may be different to normal.
Finally thank you to all our parents for supporting and understanding the school closure today.
Dear Parent/Carers
As a result of the snow, Woodside Primary Academy will be closed today as it is not possible to operate the school safely.
On Thursday 8th December, we will be raising money for Save the Children!
This will be a non-uniform day. We would like the children to wear a Christmas jumper and bring in some money to donate to this charity.
You do NOT need buy a brand new jumper! You can still buy a secondhand Christmas jumper from our Woodsiders pop-up shop or pick up a jumper at a local charity shop.
Or why not make your own jumper? Just grab any old jumper from the back of the cupboard and cover it with stickers, felt, tinsel, glitter, baubles, whatever. Yule look wonderful!

Our year 4, 5 and 6 pupils had an amazing time participating in the colour run celebrating 10 years of the REAch2 academy. They loved getting covered in all the bright colours and dancing whilst they cheered on the rest of their year group
Our Bridge Site pupils have had some exciting activities over the past few weeks. Year 4 went horse riding, year 5 had a trip to Lea Valley White Water Centre and Year 6 got adventurous at Go Ape. The children have all really enjoyed these amazing experiences.
Today at Woodside we are recognising Comic Relief with our animal theme dress up day. Our children look fantastic and even better, it has helped us to raise money for this fantastic charity.
Woodside will be opening their new baby room on April 19th 2022. The room will be for babies aged 6 month – 2 years. The room has proven very popular with just a few spaces remaining. If you are interested in a place please do contact the Nursery office either via Email: [email protected] or Tel: 020 8520 5168
Today we have been celebrating World Book Day and wanted to share with you some images of the fantastic costumes the pupils have come to school in. We have loved seeing so many different book characters represented by our pupils and staff.
The Reception climbing frame was officially opened this morning. Thank you to all of the parents who attended the opening. We asked our Reception parents to put their name into a draw to cut the ribbon and we would like to extend an extra special thank you to Ryan Allan, one of our Reception parents, who was selected for this role. As always we really appreciate the support of our school families. The children are all very excited to start playing on this fantastic new piece of equipment.
Pupil Parliament voice in action. In addition to the change to our menu that came into effect last week the new wet play items have arrived at the school and the members of our Pupil Parliament have been diligently handing these out to each year group. We hope that this helps to bring a bit of extra fun on those days where the children can't go outside due to the rain.
This week Snakes Alive visited the school and our year 3 pupils got to meet some very interesting animals including snakes, lizards, tortoises and spiders. The children were fascinated by these wonderful creatures and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
On the last day of term we held our first Pupil Parliament. The children met with Mr Tewes (Headteacher) to feedback on topics important to them and their fellow students. The pupils involved were absolutely brilliant and a joy to listen to, bringing to the meeting some excellent suggestions on what they like and what we can do to make the school even better. For more information on what was discussed please visit our website where you can find minutes taken from the meeting held on the 17th December https://www.woodsideprimaryacademy.com/page/?title=Pupil+Parliament&pid=295

What our parents say about us. We wanted to share this lovely note that one of our parents gave to a staff member to express their gratitude for the assistance they had received.
Thank you to this parent for taking the time to write it, that staff member was delighted to receive it.
Woodsiders, the PSA for the school, are hosting a family picnic this Sunday afternoon and everyone is welcome! Come along for a relaxed opportunity to meet other families from the Woodside school community. We’ll be set up on the grassy area in front of the town hall on forest road from 2.30pm.
The sun is out and the children are enjoying the new class sized sandpit. It is good to be back at school.
We all know how challenging this year has been for everyone and our picnic day on Wednesday 21st July was for all our Woodside children who have missed out on so much this year in one way or another. We wanted to help spread a little joy and wow what a joyous occasion it was, the children's faces say it all.
We wish you all a wonderful summer holiday full of happiness and look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 6th September. For now we leave you with a few more wonderful pictures from our picnic day.
On a hot day nothing like a delicious Slushie to cool down or making your tongue fabulously blue with an ice-lolly.
We have loved seeing how excited the children have been by the day so far. Let the fun times roll.
Woodside is all set for a fun filled day.
Woodside hope you all had a lovely Fathers day. We wanted to share with you some of the fantastic dad inspired Superheroes created by the children last week
