As you can’t have failed to notice, the countdown to Christmas has begun! What’s your plan for an advent calendar this year?

We’ve got a simple, inexpensive alternative for you that kids will love. Our colourful, downloadable advent calendar comes with ready-made messages and activities for you to schedule throughout December. From making paper chains to watching a Christmas movie or wearing a Christmas jumper - simply decide what to do and when (you can add your own messages too) - then tuck away the notes and wait for the magic to happen.

In recent years, with funding cuts, it's been a struggle to keep afloat and we rely on donations. We do hope our calendar adds a little joy to Christmas this year and that you would consider making a contribution to our cause.

A HUGE thank you to Mei-Si & Kumi who raised an impressive £52.12 for LOPS with their lemonade, toffee apple & cupcake stall, great work girls!
Thanks also to their helpers on the stall: Bea, Arwen, Imogen, May-Ling, Su-Ling, Lu-Li & Tabitha and all the generous people at the Brightside Road Street Party who enjoyed lots of lemonade & treats!

Clothes Swap update - we'll now also be serving yummy cupcakes from the lovely Karen Cable, so make sure you leave a bit of space after your jerk chicken! Friday 15 July, 7-10.30pm. See you there...

CLOTHES SWAP at LOPS 15 JULY 7-10PM
If you're wondering how it all works, read on...

LOPS SWAP SHOP – THE RULES OF THE RAILS
1. Bring up to 7 items of good quality clothing or accessories (including shoes, hats, bags, belts etc) for swapping. Nothing stained, bobbly or too worn – if the reason you don’t like is because it’s too worn, it’s likely no-one else will like it either.
2. Bring a hanger for each item.
3. When you arrive at the Swap Shop, hand in your items and they will be sorted to help fair swapping, then added to our rails:
• WHITE TICKET for regular high street labels (e.g. TopShop, H&M, Warehouse) & unknown labels
• BLACK TICKET for higher-end high street (e.g. Whistles, Reiss, Jigsaw), good quality vintage and designer
4. Whilst our helpers are sorting items, have a browse, have a Pimm's, and maybe some jerk chicken (yes please!)
5. Once clothes are sorted, there will be browsing time before anything can be claimed.
6. Once the Swap Shop officially opens , you will be able to use your white tickets for high street items, and black tickets for designer/higher-end.
7. Any clothes left over at the end of the evening can either be reclaimed, claimed by someone else, otherwise will be given to charity.
8. No fighting over items! – if two people want the same item and negotiations are at a standstill, a coin must be tossed to decide the winner.
9. Go home with a new wardrobe, feeling good about yourself, your wallet and the environment!

5k Colour Obstacle Rush

On Saturday 7th May 2016......Sarah Roberts, Pre-school Manager and her friend will be participating in a fundraising event for LOPS, please show your support by making a donation below. Thank you

5k Colour Obstacle Rush We will be going through a 5K obstacle course which include various challenges such as climbing, ropes and tunnels plus running all whilst having powder paint thrown at me as a distraction and will need to remain focused :)

This course will be held on:
Saturday 25th June and Saturday 2nd July 9.30am to 4pm

This course is for Workers, carers and family members who need to use Makaton at home or in their work.

Study materials are included; Participant’s manuals contain all Makaton signs and symbols taught on the course.

Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
