We are entering the final phase of our refurbishment within our Wimbledon setting! Our new Beautiful Babies and Nursery School classrooms are almost complete! The final decorations are taking place this weekend ahead of the big merge next Friday!! WE CANNOT WAIT TO SHOW YOU!!! A huge thanks to the team members that have been super busy supporting the transformation ❤️💙

We currently have a HUGE interest in football across our older age groups with many attending successful grassroots teams, aspiring to be a footballer ⚽️ With todays success of the Lionesses that a number of our children are thrilled about we wanted to share an exciting opportunity that Phoebe who is a past BB attendee had recently. She was able to meet and train with the England Ladies team including some of todays goal scorers! Phoebe always loved our sports sessions and time outside during her 11 years at Building Blocks. Tuning in and supporting those early interests has enabled her depth and growth to continue to strive in her area of interest ❤️💙 We’d absolutely LOVE to hear what our past children are now up to!

How fabulous!! A member of our Premier Pre School Teddington used a postcard to write to his peers with some of his holiday adventures ☀️ 🚂 🏖️ The children were excited to hear all about it and explore what a postcard is!

The opportunities with storytelling can really be endless! Reading is woven through our curriculum here at Building Blocks and is delivered through books, tales, rhymes, actions and even songs. 📚 🎶 📖 💃🏼 Stories appeal to our senses and our emotions, not only drawing our attention more easily, but also leaving an impact on us as audiences. This makes storytelling powerful in delivering any message. If you deliver a story right, as evidenced throughout history, it might last a lifetime!

CONGRATULATIONS to our lovely Lynne!! Lynne is at the final stages of completing her Level 3 qualifications and passing her maths has been her absolute nemesis! Today she learnt she’s passed with flying colours!! Amazing news 🥰 a huge thank you to our fabulous Danni for always calming Lynne’s nerves ahead of exams too

Mini scientists! 🥼🧪👩‍🔬🧑‍🔬 The children in our after school love taking part in their own science experiments! Exploring what happens when you mix baking soda and vinegar! Why don’t you try it out at home and see what happens!! 🫧

Our amazing educator Oana has passed her probation with flying colours and has enrolled onto her level 3 with Eden Training Solutions, after having her first teaching session today amazing feedback was shared by her tutor! We are already so proud of her and can’t wait to watch and support her development further. ⭐️

This week we had the privilege of a visit from the Ben Harira family whose children Mathis, Theo & Jasmine attended Building Blocks 15yrs ago. It was wonderful to catch up on all their news and to reminisce. Staff members Lotte Hunter-Gaisford & Vanja Koprcina were delighted to see them having taught them all those years ago. Although it made them feel very old 😁

Do you know about schema’s? next time you watch your child play look out for them. Children may display different schematic ways to play or may have some specific ways in which they explore and learn, tuning into this and facilitating their preferred way of learning will allow you to teach them in the way they learn best 😃
