Transforming low-income housing in Guayaquil, Ecuador into sustainable, vibrant communities. This project goes beyond building social houses by creating spaces where residents thrive with pride and quality of life.

LEIGHIS, a Retail Experience by MA Contemporary Interior Design Alumna, Daniela Toro Garces ()

This project involved refurbishing a historic Victorian mansion in the Scottish Borders, transforming it into a craft hotel highlighting Scottish furniture makers, artists, and the region’s natural beauty. Locally sourced materials were used, and most of the furniture was crafted by Scottish artisans.

The design primarily focused on the hotel’s main restaurant and bar, envisioned as the central gathering spots for locals and tourists, fostering community connections.

The goal was to reinterpret the mansion’s beautiful Victorian architecture, using it as a backdrop for modern interiors that celebrate Scotland’s charm.

In Conversation With Cecilia Bönström
Former Creative Director of Zadig & Voltaire

With over two decades of experience in the fashion world, Bönström shares her expertise with students, going beyond design to include a deeper understanding of branding, marketing, and consumer behaviour.

Best known for her influential tenure as the Creative Director of Zadig & Voltaire, a celebrated French fashion label. During her time at Zadig & Voltaire, Bönström was instrumental in defining the brand’s aesthetic and creative vision, contributing to its signature rock ‘n’ roll-inspired style that merges luxury with a rebellious flair.

Experience a major exhibition celebrating the life and work of Enzo Mari, one of the greatest Italian designers of the 20th century, whose creations have inspired global creatives.

Students of the BA Fashion Business and Communication Degree experiencing an immersive exploration of Celine’s latest season products and brand ethos. Having inspiring discussions on innovative marketing strategies at the Celine flagship store in Mayfair.

This term students are working on an exciting project: the proposal of an advertising campaign that combines traditional and innovative media strategies for Celine.

Students have the opportunity to delve into Celine’s brand identity, values, and target demographic. Understanding how the essence of the brand is crucial for aligning the advertising campaign with Celine’s image.

This project is a self assembled light created with laser cut aluminium sheets. Its modular design makes it scaleable and possible to assemble into different shapes.

Perfect for an array of locations from private spaces, to public areas, Hikari aims to create a relaxed atmosphere.

Noetic Design, part of Sentient Horizons series by Istituto Marangoni Milano Design, is a special talk dedicated to how the product's aesthetic culture can be applied to the robotic object to avoid falling into the "uncanny valley," the phenomenon by which overly realistic animated things appear unsettling. Fostering a quality user experience of robotic objects, which will be increasingly part of our daily life, will require developing a new, original aesthetic for products that will paradoxically need to look less like humans to elicit a more empathic response.
