" I decided to be brave with this project and uncover the part of me that adored Morocco, burying the hate and resentment so that I could find sentimentality to the things I never admitted that I loved. This includes Atay (Mint tea), Henna, my traditional dresses and my religion." Amira's project on Exposed Identity, UAL Level 3 extended Diploma.

" One of my strengths for this project is that I know when to take the photo for each different trick, I know when to press the shutter. Only on 2 photos I used continuous shooting mode, but everything else I just shot at the right time. The reason I know when to shoot is because I ride myself, so I know when the peak of the movement is coming up in the shot."
Freedy Martin, UAL Level 3 student on his Final Major Project "The Peak"

While experimenting with liquid light and using a range of material to print on, Kathryn McGeary created a concept about her own roots. She photographed in the area where she was born and her entire family heritage involved ancestors variously working at the local mills and farming the land. From the series The Hard Moorland Way inspired by prominent folk singer Ewan MacColl.
All images cyanotype and gesso on cotton canvas, woven and generously provided by SDC Enterprises, Pickwick Mills, Holmfirth.

Danielle is a conceptual, fine art photographer who works across digital and analogue mediums. As a genderqueer artist they are interested in exploring concepts around identity, especially those that challenge societal norms such as gender as well as highlighting social injustice. This work is from an ongoing series inspired by paintings from the Dutch Masters and Caravaggio, and is a commentary on the intersection between climate change and racial injustice. 📷

London-based photographer and visual artist Jaz Kilmister was born in Singapore and raised in South East England. His work is an art of questioning. Jaz makes large format colour photographs characterised by a desire to represent a psychological space somewhere between illusion and reality. A half-remembered place. This work frames dominion as the establishment of habitable order over chaos. The human desire to tame, organise, boundary, defend, compete and coexist. Our ancestral ambition to rule the kingdoms of sea and sky and tame the wild, before the mental maps of the ancient landscape became cartographers' lines. Come see his work at the Unforseen Exhibition opening this Thursday 26th May, ticket link in bio 📷
