Hello everyone ๐
Christmas is nearly here, and many of us are reflecting on the 2022 as a whole. Some of us will be passionate about starting a new training programme in 2023 and improve their body composition.
For those non-trained individuals over the age of 40, I would like to offer you an interesting opportunity as part of my PhD in Human Sciences at the University of Greenwich.
๐ฃ I am looking for participants between the ages of 40 & 65 to join a 6-week microcurrent and exercise programme.
Itโs FREE.
This study has a University Research Ethics Committee Approval (FREC-EHHS-21-3-35-03), and it is registered as a clinical trial on ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT05567237).

In this study, we are exploring the effectiveness of microcurrent with/without resistance exercises on body composition, muscle strength, and physical function in middle-aged adults.
YOUR BENEFITS:
๐You will receive a Microcurrent device during the 6-week study with an option to continue using it for 12 weeks;
๐ You will receive a Pedometer to track your physical activity;
๐ You will receive a specialised home-based resistance training programme with elastic bands + a familiarization session on campus to learn how to do the exercises correctly (for those who decide to engage with exercise);
๐ Precise measurement of your weight, height, fat mass, and free-fat mass in the lab;
๐ White blood cells count in the lab;
๐ Measurement of the thickness of 2 arms and legs muscles by using ultrasound in the lab;
๐ Measurement of your muscle strength and muscle function in the lab.
๐ Full report with all results of your body composition and strength parameters assessment at the end of the study.

Celebrating 2 Decades of Gymnastics Today!
Looking back, I would say that my decision to sign up for my first gymnastics lesson on the 1st of October 2002, was the best thing I have ever done.
This is beyond any professional or educational achievements, it is just being the real you, enjoying what you do. And here we are 20 years later, I still love doing gymnastics, maybe even more than before.
Throughout the last 2 decades, I also extended this passion from practice to coaching, and into science-related projects about gymnastics and beyond.
Happy 20 Years of Gymnastics, and thank you to everyone who has been part of it in some way.

Kinematic Analysis of Double Back Straight Somersault and Double Back Straight Somersault with Full Twist on Rings
The most common dismount performed by the Olympic and World rings medallists for the last 20 years is the double back straight somersault with a full twist.
We analyzed this element and provided methodological progressions for its attainment which can greatly improve the training process, in addition to providing room for learning more difficult variations.
