Since starting Lion Estates Leighton Buzzard in March 2021, I knew I wanted giving back to the community I live in to be an important part of what I do. I’m therefore proud to have been able to sponsor the town’s inaugural Spring Fayre, provide a local youth football team with new training tops for this season, sponsor Mary Bassett Lower School Summer Fete, and produce a directory packed full of local businesses. I’m pleased to be continuing my support of Mary Bassett Lower School over the next few months with sponsorship of its Christmas Fete and the introduction of an exciting new offer - more details to follow!
Psst! Guess what? There's some magic going on in Pam from Dunstable Library's Halloween craft today!

It has been so encouraging reading the nominations for Home Learning Hero badges. The media has focused so much on the negatives of lockdown, but it is heart-warming to hear how challenges have been overcome and how children have achieved so much. The Wordle shows frequently used words in nominations - inspirational!

We are working with the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE) to ensure the literature we use with children is high quality, exciting and enriching.
DID YOU KNOW?:
- Only 4% of the children’s books published in 2017 featured Black, Asian, and minority ethnic (BAME) characters,
- Only 1% of the children’s books published in the UK in 2017 had a BAME main character.
We take seriously the role that the books play in children's development, and we are strategically choosing books that reflect the diversity of our wonderful world.
