A great 2 days on ‘exped’ whilst away with the Outward Bound Trust in Aberdyfi, Wales. After a night spent in a log cabin after a 3hr walk on day 1, our Y10’s smashed an 11km day in the hills, reaching the summit of Tarrenhendre. Tomorrow morning, as the weather turns, we will be gorge scrambling. Resilience and leadership qualities in abundance!

PASSENGER NOTICE

Monday 11th of December 2023

From the abovementioned date, the Service 650 from Aylesbury to
Cottesloe School is being discontinued and streamlined with the
Service 100. This decision is taken considering the ongoing cost-of-
living crisis and our endeavour as a local bus operator that offers customers reliable, frequent and cost-effective travel options.

The change will ensure that current passengers on the 650 will be
available at the lower fares offered on the Service 100. All existing
tickets will be accepted on the new service.

To do this, the timetable on the service 100 has also been revamped with the existing 07:45 from AYS to MK now departing at 07:55 to arrive in Wing at 08:15. When returning, the 14:47 from MK to AYS will be picking up in Wing at 15:19.

We will be asking students to give you a text or call when we are ten minutes away - please do not arrive beforehand, as the gate will be locked and this may make access difficult for the coach and delay collection for everyone!

Team Cottesloe are now making their way out of the city, after a little morning Einkaufsbummel (shopping spree) in the Schildergasse. We even had some snow!

Full time for our U13 girls football team.

Miss Keveren took our U13 girls football team away to to play in a league fixture. Our girls unfortunately lost 4-0 to a very good team but gained some valuable experience. The girls are ready to work on what they learned and use that in their next match.

For our last evening in Cologne we walked under the stars of the Christmas market at Neumarkt. Frohe Weihnachten!

Last week our Y7 and Y10 Netball teams took on .vale.academy away from home.

Our year 7 team lost 3-6 in a match between two very good teams that could've gone either way. Mrs Lambourne has voted Elsie-Jane Bates as POTM due to her consistent and fantastic performances. Well done!

Our year 10 team won 22-1 in a match where the girls performed excellently against their opponents. Mrs Lambourne has voted Maia Dodsworth as POTM due to her being a key player in nearly every point scored for us and for showing great sportsmanship throughout the game. Well done!

ℂ𝕙𝕣𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕞𝕒𝕤 𝔽𝕠𝕠𝕕𝕓𝕒𝕟𝕜 ℂ𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟

As Advent is about to start, we are thinking again about how to spread the Christmas spirit of love and generosity, with our annual Foodbank Collection for Leighton-Linslade Helpers

The Ethics department is always so proud and touched by the generosity of our school community when it comes to helping those who are on the edge of poverty. We are again asking for donations of non-perishable foodstuff and personal hygiene items, as many people who access the Food Bank are in need of essential personal care.

You can send your donations to school with your child(ren); their form tutor will ensure it goes to the designated collection point.

Here's a list of items that are currently in high demand at our local food bank:
• Long Life Juice and Milk
• Tinned Vegetables, tomatoes, meat, puddings
• Pasta Sauce
• Rice and Pasta
• Feminine Hygiene - sanitary products
• Baby products - nappies, formula
• Advent Calendars
• Tea, Coffee and Sugar
• Personal hygiene products - deodorants, toothpaste, shower gel

This year, we are also trying to collect 50 chocolate selection boxes to put into Christmas packs. So if you are able to donate some of these also, they would be much appreciated.

Our busiest day in Cologne so far - we've just been around the lovely Heumarkt Christmas market. We've also heard a lot of our students ordering their hot chocolate and bratwurst in German. Sehr gut!

Team Cottesloe are now exploring German Sports and Olympic Museum. Lots of hands-on activities for our students to try!

Our First XI's result!

On Tuesday, our first XI traveled away to John Colet School to play against . Our boys won 9-1 and have maintained their spot at the top of the group with 15 points.

There were two hat tricks, one from Alex Cristofoli and one from Ellis Soames-Gould. Our other goal scorers consisted of Ryan Lewis, Kacper Piwowarek, and Harvey Lewis in his debut match.

A complete performance from the boys, once again showing why they deserve to be at the top of this group.

Last years GCSE and A-Level students can come and collect their work from school. If you haven't collected your exam certificates yet, you could combine the two.

James Evans left us in 2018 and is now a Professional Dancer. James studied GCSE Drama and Dance and left us to attend the prestigious Arts1 and later onto Bird Collegeuk, where he left with a Professional Dance and Musical Theatre BA Hons, First Class.

James is now dancing aboard Royal Caribbean International's Odyssey of the Seas under his professional name, James White.

Miss Mayhew is incredibly proud of your achievements to date, James!

We have arrived safely with our Year 10 German Students in Cologne, and are all checked in and have had our dinner! Now we're just about to wrap up warm and head out to The Market of the Angels!

The Principal of gave an assembly today to our Year 9s, about the options available to them from Year 10 and Sixth Form.

The Aylesbury UTC offers technical courses for students who want to work towards a future career in Computing or Health and Social Care.

What about us is different? – a new concept in education
In the first place, University Technical Colleges (UTCs) are a new concept in education. Importantly, responding to growing demands from the local community careers required in the Computing and Health industries. It started when these industries needed high-calibre employees with relevant education.
