Parent/Carer Update
I thought i would just give you an update on how we are doing since we opened to the wider community on 3rd August and ask if you could give us some feedback on how well you think we are doing in relation to opening under the pandemic. Please write any comments you have in the comments.

Changes-
-We discourage children from brining in soft toys/toy to acoid spearding germs to others.
-Staff and children's temperatures taken every day.
-Staff get tested every week at care home.
-Carpets were removed from all rooms and replaced with vinyl.
-Staff and children wear indoor shoes.
-Children will only come together when necessary from different rooms e.g. only at night to realese staff from long shifts.
-Staff keep their distance from each other and children where possible. cuddleds are still given and TLC given where necessary (and thats just staff)
-We operate a one way system and only one parent in the building at a time. we asked for your continued suppoin riniging the room you require and then standing at the sign until we get you.
-No parents are allowed to walk through into ursery rooms (all to protect the children in my care)
-We play outside for extended periods every day in the garden a everyday for fresh air.
-Toys cleaned/rotated reguarly after use and selected by "ease of clean" methods
-Deep cleaning takes every weekend.
-Staff and children are washing their hands more reguarly and using hand gels constantly.

Please give us feedback!

Good afternoon everyone!!
With us being back open to the general public this week we have been having loads of enquiries for all the rooms! We just want to remind everyone to please have their booking sheets in for Friday the 14th of August for September and that it is a first come first serve basis. Please remember we also don’t have a full team back on board yet so places will be limited to accommodate ratios in each room!
Thankyou x

28/07/2020

Dear all
We are working hard getting ready to open to all our other on Monday 3rd August. There will be however a few changes we would like you to be aware of.
Entry and exit to the building
We are now putting into force the 2 metre distance rule outside the nursery and would ask for your full co-operation on this. I think we are all used to this by now when shopping. Only one parent at a time will be allowed to enter and exit the premises and would ask that you queue alongside the barrier (car park side) and wait until a member of staff calls you forward. We do not expect that the wait will be any more than a few minutes as not everyone checks in at the same time.
Please be patient with the staff we will get the door as quickly as possible. We will operate like this as we monitor the numbers of people coming and and going and if I feel that the crowds become too large we may have to look at staggered times being given to parents. I will monitor over the coming months and let you know. You will enter the building and check in at the check in desk. The staff will then take the child to their appropriate room. Unfortunately parents will not be allowed any further than the check in desk in order to minimise the flow of movement inside the building.
We would ask in addition, not to allow soft toys and toys other than those in the nursery be brought in. if your little one is upset about this they can bring them in but must leave them at check in session and not bring them into the rooms. Comfort blankets etc can be brought in if needed. Staff know what to do with these.
We will be resuming all planned activities but are still waiting on whether or not planned cohorts of no more than 8 children will still have to be in place. We should know this by Thursday of this week when Nicola Surgeon announces if the bubbles have to be lifted.
If bubbles are still to be in place then our staff in the baby room will have a bubble of children each and this bubble will not be allowed to mix with any other rooms including (staff and other children). Our staff in the 2-3 room will be the same. They will have their own bubbles of children and will not be allowed to mix with other bubbles from other rooms. The 3-5 room will also operate like this too. So basically staff will stick to a bubble of no more than 8 children in their care which lessons the chance of any spread of infection.
In the near future we are thinking of operating two baby rooms, A 0-1 room and A 1-2 room. This is just an idea at the moment, if you know of anyone looking for spaces in this age group please get in touch.
Resources (toys) etc, will be sterilised between every use and every night before closure. Enhanced cleaning of the premises will also take place every evening after close. We have removed carpets and placed flooring in all the rooms with laminate vinyl to be of a more sterile nature. It looks really nice and fresh.
The rule on play dough, paint, water and sand is that it can be used but must stay inside the bubbles of children (no more than 8) and be replaced after use.
This is all new to everyone and we will do our best to answer your questions but please beat in mind the government are changing the rules regularly so we just have to be patient.
Outdoor play will be used as a classroom setting for all children weather permitting. Babies have their own separate play area, 2-3 have their own separate area as do the 3-5. Children will be encouraged to constantly use hand gel and wash their hands regularly which they are doing very well already.
As of next week we will be resuming meals, we will be providing our morning snacks, 2 course lunch, afternoon snacks and a light tea at the end of the day. An order is also being placed for the babies to have baby snacks and nappies/wipes. As normal could 2-3 parents please provided appropriate changes In the child’s bag.
Due to covid-19 our before and after school provision has been stopped and unfortunately we will not be able to resume this.

Thank you for all for your understanding and patience.
Rosemary & staff

Good morning everyone!
The booking sheets for August will be available from tomorrow (July 1st) and that they need to be in before or on the 15th of July. Just a wee reminder to everyone that key workers will be offered first place and from there it will be a first come first serve basis as capacity is reduced. Please get in contact with us via email to Helen (Admin) or ourselves at [email protected] We can email booking sheets out but if you would like to come and collect one from the nursery that is fine also but we ask that you give us a phone before coming down so we can minimise the movement to and from the building.

Can we ask that you also spread the word to anyone you may know who doesn’t have Facebook.
Thankyou and can’t wait to see you all back soon!!❣️

24/06/2020

Good afternoon us again 🤣

Due to Nicola sturgeons announcement today we have been made aware child care providers can open from the 15th of July offering a limited capacity service. We are looking to see if all the parents who wish to use the service can get their August booking sheets in for the 15th of July and we can’t stress this enough as we will be lowering our capacity for each room so need to have a rough idea of numbers etc. As you can all appreciate we have a lot of changes to make within the nursery so we will be taking the month of July to get everything up and running for the children returning in August for this to be a safe environment for us all. We will be offering spaces to the key workers children first as that is who we have been providing for, for the last 3 months from there it will be a first come first serve basis based on recieved booking sheets. Please be aware that days may need to be altered if the rooms are over capacity as we will be working from when we receive the booking sheets.

From the 1st of July you can contact Helen Russell (Admin) by phone or email to get an August booking sheet.

Any questions don’t hesitate to message.
Thank you x

!ATTENTION!
Hi Everyone hope you are all well!

We are looking forward to the time when we see you all back in the nursery again. I am just making an initial enquiry at the moment for the parents in the 3-5 room or parents whose children would be transitioning from 2- 3 room who would have got funding before it was withdrawn from us.

We Would be interested in finding out if anyone would consider coming back to the 3-5 room if Little Deers were to deduct your funded sessions from your monthly invoice.? Obviously this would not include the summer holidays as funding would not have been given at this time anyway.

In order for this to work we would need to know:

How many days your child would attend?
How many hours they would use throughout the week?

Could you let us know how many of you would be interested so that we get an idea of the number of people who would take this up. This is only a suggestion at the moment as obviously we would need to see how many would take this offer up for it to work.

If you can get in touch with us asap to let us know. Either here on facebook message or email us; [email protected]

18/06/2020

Good afternoon everyone! I have printed off some graduation certificates for the ones who aren’t able to print off at home. If you would like to pop by and collect one you are more than welcome, please could you give us a phone and let us know when you would like to come as we need to try reduce numbers in the building at the one time!

Thank you Leona x

15/06/2020

Good morning everyone. We’ve had a few parents ask about graduation for the PRE SCHOOL children and as we all know unfortunately due to the circumstance our yearly graduation and open day won’t be going ahead. We do want to make sure we are still giving the children a wee send off that they deserve after their hard work over the last year even during these times.
So one of the parents gave a great idea to send out a certificate to the children (via parents email) if the parents can print off and take a picture of their child holding the certificate and send it back into us by the 1st of July. We will then create a video collage of all the lovely pictures we receive and post it on our page. We have also asked the 3-5 room staff team to be involved in this as it would be lovely for the children to see their amazing key workers that have helped them through their pre school year!
Can’t wait to see all these amazing pictures!!

We will be emailing today/tomorrow if anyone struggles printing off the certificate or if you don’t receive an email can you get in touch with us by phone or email thanks.
we will be contacting parents to organise appointments for parents to come collect children's profile folders in due course.

29/05/2020

Good morning everyone,
There’s been a slight change to the information we have given yesterday. The first minister stated that essential workers could access childcare as of Wednesday but care inspectorate have sent out a letter stating that only outdoor settings can offer this service from Wednesday 3rd of June. We have to run as we have been for key worker parents only. It’s a lot of mix messages and as soon as we know more information on if we can take essential workers children we will let you all know ASAP. Sorry for the confusion. Any questions don’t hesitate to comment, email or phone in we will be happy to help as much as we can for now.

28/05/2020

Good afternoon everyone. We just listened to Nicola Sturgeon's recent broadcast on the exit strategy for us in Phase 1. She has stated that all essential workers are entitled to childcare from Wednesday 3rd of June. If you feel you are under this category please get in touch with us immediately. This will give us time to match your occupation to the essential category list.

06/05/2020

The staff have been staying at home and staying safe but are missing all our children & the parents ❤️ here’s a little positive video from our homes to yours! We hope to see yous all back at nursery soon 🌈🌈🌈 x

17/04/2020

We would just like to thank all those parents who have sent in gifts and good wishes to us over the last 3 weeks. We have been very touched by your goodwill and kindness during this very difficult time.We appreciate parents amending days and times to suit the nursery. Myself, A -jai and Leona have been working hard to ensure our rooms are all resourced and refurbished to a very high standard ready for an Inspection whenever that may be.

We would love to see what the children have been doing during this lock down. Feel free to send pictures to the nursery page. safe home!!

Best wishes Rosemary, A - jai and Leona.x

A message from Admin to all parents/carers:

The booking sheets are still for Key Workers only until after the 23rd of April where Lockdown will be reviewed. After the 23rd of April Admin will review the situation. If you are a key worker and need a booking sheet then please telephone Helen from Admin on 01294 542702 and she will send one out to you. This would need to be today or Friday as Admin's hours are also staggered. Thank you.

07/04/2020

Admin have advised us that the booking sheets for May have to go in as normal before the 15th April. However, we are still only open for key workers at the moment. The lockdown is due to be reviewed on the 23rd April. This will determine if we re-open for all children or indeed only key workers again.Thank you.

Hello everyone. We have just found out that from Monday we will be operating a basic childcare service for Key Workers Only!! If you are a key worker can you let us know your occupation immediately and if you do not know if you are one or not can you please find out.

There will be no curriculum delivered. As delivery of supplies are limited, and to avoid cross contamination, we would ask that all key workers who intend using the service to provide the following:

Nappies
Wipes
All food for example baby food, packed lunches and drinks as we will not be providing food.

Only booking sheets for key workers will be accepted, all others are void from Monday.

For infection control purposes we intend to operate an hourly drop off in order to slow the movement of people entering and exiting the nursery . More details on this will follow once we get an idea of how many key workers will be using our service. Could you please telephone or e.mail the nursery today to let me know if you are in this category.
Rosemary

18/03/2020

Hello everyone, just a quick note to let you know how we are all doing.

During these difficult and strange times we have taken extra precautions and measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and children.

The nursery will continue with a deep clean which we get every weekend. We are asking staff to be vigilant of their own health and if any staff member feels they are showing any signs or symptoms they must stay at home and self isolate immediately. Our staff will not come into work in their uniforms and will change into their uniforms in work and the same when they go home (change out of uniform). Our staff have been told to change into indoor shoes when inside nursery.

We would ask if any parent has been to any of the risk areas specified on the FCO website or indeed been abroad recently that they do not bring their children into nursery for 14 days. With International travel now being banned for 30 days this will help this situation. In addition, we would ask parents to be sensible and not send children into nursery for example with chest infections as they would perhaps be more susceptible to picking up anything.

Up until now we have had no confirmed cases in the care home or in the nursery so we are still open for business however, if there is a reported case to the nursery, we would then have to close. We ware following the Government''s advice daily and will keep you informed.

If you have any questions please speak to staff directly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding at this difficult time.

Rosemary
