Clean Bandit is the face of the article. They recently took part in an interview that looks at their music style and genre and how that is a heavy focal point for record labels. For the band themselves, they went through a few ups and downs when it came to their choices with what they release. 🎻🎹

It’s time to meet the newest addition to our IEMusic family ✨
Introducing Archy Tomas also known for his band Archy and the Astronauts 👩🏼🚀
We asked Archy to tell us a bit about himself for you…
Archy has been performing, songwriting and teaching music since he was 14. By day, he’s a keen songwriter and dedicated cat dad 🐱. By night, he fronts the alt rock trio “archy & the astronauts” who gig all over the place (most recently in New York!), and have music on all streaming platforms!
We are so lucky to have Archy join the team! 💫✨
Today's Diary of "our" CEO is on burnout. Checkout Sam's thoughts below and subscribe to receive the full Breakfast Club Article free to your inbox every Monday!
'Burnout is natural; we all feel it from time to time, and it's just a case of understanding where you are and if you are in the position to take the break you need. Lewis Capaldi had to stop mid tour a few years back because of the stress getting to him, not ideal, but clearly needed for his own health and mental well being. I would say, however, that the stress he was putting himself under during his 'second album writing phase' was much less needed. He'd just had a worldwide wide number one selling album, he could take all the time he needed, the labels could wait, the management could wait, he himself could have gone on an extended holiday just to get his head right if he wanted to... I wonder how many of the people around him (whose wages he paid) were willing to tell him this at the time? The Netflix documentary on this whole section of his life made for fascinating viewing.
All of that is to say, firstly, it's important to know yourself well and clock when things might get a little too intense, or there is too much pressure on you or your work, but secondly, do you (like Lewis) know your worth? If you're being paid to do too many gigs... put your prices up. If you've been asked to be in too many bands, pick the opportunities that look most exciting or that you believe in, and perhaps MOST IMPORTANTLY, learn to say NO sometimes...
Adele just said 'no', and I respect that much more than any album she could have ever released."

Wow. It’s been a wild few weeks at IEMusic, let’s play catch up! 🎸✨
Yesterday our girl JULIET took the lead on running the workshop day at Thurston Community College all by herself and the feedback was incredible…
“From the moment I met JULIET I knew she was going to be AMAZING! So full of energy and bursting to share her ideas with our students. She got stuck in from the start, absolutely on their level and so informative and truthful about her own journey. The kids were so inspired that the majority of them stayed in at break to continue working on their song writing. EVERY group performed an entire song and took on board the feedback given by JULIET and they all got SO much out of the day.”
Absolutely smashed it Juliet, we are so proud 🤘🏼🫶
