With the end of Lockdown2 only days away, we are looking forward to welcoming visitors back into school.

Our aim at Ashton House School is to create a warm, caring and dynamic environment where each and every child can reach their full potential. As a small, one-form entry school we know each pupil as an individual in their own right, we are able to develop existing talents and encourage experimentation and discovery within a nurturing environment.

All the staff and children celebrated Black History Month (October 2020),
The (Pre-School) children took part in understanding why we celebrate this occasion,
They (Babies, Toddlers and Pre-School) learned about Gareth Morgan who not only created the traffic signal lights, and also, pathed the way for the Gas Masks that is still being used today, that helps in saving lives.
We (Pre-School and Toddlers) pretended riding on the bus with Rosa Parks the activist, that refused to get out of her seat to stand at the back bus in 1955, she invigorated the struggle for racial equality.
We also took the opportunity to dance “under the coconut tree” with Louise Bennett, Her contribution to Jamaican cultural life was such that she was honoured with the M.B.E., the Norman Manley Award for Excellence (in the field of Arts), the Order of Jamaica (1974) the Institute of Jamaica's Musgrave Silver and Gold Medals for distinguished eminence in the field of Arts and Culture, and much much more. The children used this opportunity to talk about what jobs they would like to do when they grow up.
Babies used a multitude of colours to represent the Caribbean and African countries (Culture), that attend the nursery.
