Bucket Time
‘Bucket Time’ is a structured, visually-based approach to help children, particularly those on the autism spectrum, develop attention, listening, and engagement skills through the use of a bucket filled with engaging toys. It's important because it builds foundational skills for communication, interaction, and participation in group activities.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
What is Bucket Time?
* A Structured Approach:
Bucket Time is a specific intervention program designed to improve attention and engagement in children.
* Visual Stimulation:
It uses a bucket or container filled with visually appealing and motivating toys or objects.
* Focus on Shared Attention:
The goal is to encourage children to focus their attention on an adult-led activity and develop shared attention skills.
* Gradual Progression:
It progresses through stages, starting with simple activities and gradually increasing the complexity as the child's skills develop.
Why is it Important?
* Develops Attention and Focus:
Bucket Time helps children learn to focus their attention for longer periods and resist distractions.
* Enhances Listening Skills:
It encourages children to listen to instructions and engage with the adult leading the activity.
* Improves Communication and Interaction:
By focusing on shared attention, it promotes communication and interaction skills.
* Supports Participation in Group Activities:
It helps children learn to participate in group activities and follow instructions, which is crucial for social development.
* Suitable for Various Children:
While developed for children with autism, Bucket Time can be beneficial for any child who struggles with attention or engagement in adult-led activities.
* Easy to Implement:
Bucket Time is a relatively simple and adaptable approach that can be used in various settings, including homes and schools.

Our Parent Pack

What a wonderful term we’ve had!
The children have enjoyed so many adventures out and about. We’ve visited the local woods, allotments and taken a bus ride into the next village. The children always enjoy activities in the garden and playing in the neighbouring park. We’ve learnt about life cycles, enjoyed water play and practiced our gross and fine motor skills.

2 years ago today we received the amazing news that Ofsted thought as much of our setting as we do! ♥️
Good evening,
After having a discussion this evening with the management team and re looking at the updated weather forecast, the wind is supposed to be at its strongest when staff are leaving for work, given this we want to ensure the safety of all our staff who are travelling in from nearby villages.
We have made the decision to cancel breakfast club tomorrow morning and are hoping to be open for pre-school, but please keep checking Famly for updates.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but the safety of our staff is paramount.
Carrie and Hayley

A huge thank you to our incredible team at Solid Rock for all your hard work! Happy Nursery Practitioner’s Day!
