This week, our Year 1 to Year 6 pupils had the exciting opportunity to take part in a Taranta Steps workshop, led by experienced specialists Giovanni Fiumanò and Elisa David.
The workshop provided a wonderful introduction to traditional Italian folk music and dance, beautifully enriching our Music curriculum.
Children listened to authentic songs, discovered traditional instruments, and even got moving themselves by learning some of the energetic dance steps!
From the historical background to the live musical demonstration and hands-on dance session, the experience was both educational and great fun - a fantastic way to bring cultural learning to life.

While our bilingual school is closed for the Spring holiday, we’ve been looking back at some of the special moments that made this term so meaningful.

During our last Assembly, we had the pleasure of hosting a private screening of an episode from Gocce d’Italia — a beautiful docu-series produced by Complitaly TV that shares stories of courage, resilience, and success within the Italian community in the UK.

The episode our pupils watched focused on the history of Italian migration to the UK — a powerful opportunity for them to reflect on their heritage, connect with their roots, and engage in thoughtful discussion about the past and present. Thanks also to Comites di Londra for being part of this event.

We’re excited to announce that a public screening of Gocce d’Italia will be taking place soon at our bilingual school. Stay tuned — we very much look forward to welcoming you!

Sharing stories, experiences, and emotions: this is what the families of our pupils did last Friday during the workshop organized by Transiti.net - Psicologia d'Espatrio

We discussed living (and growing up) abroad, building our own identity and sense of self, dealing with disorientation, stress and even conflict, as well as building connections and resilience.

At our bilingual school, we welcome international families who raise their children in a multilingual and multicultural environment: we know extremely well how exciting yet challenging this journey can be.
This is why we are committed to offering multiple opportunities for reflection and creating spaces for conversations that provide tools and resources to support our community of parents.

Thanks to Transiti.net - Psicologia d'Espatrio for organising such a meaningful workshop - we look forward to collaborating again soon.

World Book Day is one of our most cherished celebrations here at SIAL!
This year, the day provided the perfect opportunity to launch Reading for Pleasure, an exciting project aimed at enriching our children’s literary experiences. In addition to upgrading both the main library and classroom libraries, this initiative will help nurture a lifelong love of reading.

Reading is the key to understanding the world around us and allows us to imagine what hasn’t yet been created. As passionate advocates of reading, we truly believe in its transformative power—not only as a skill, but as a gateway to curiosity, creativity, and compassion.

Every day at SIAL is filled with growth, achievement, and memorable moments. We’ve created a learning environment where our pupils can flourish, nurturing their creativity and curiosity.
If you ask our children whether they’re happy to go to school, they will respond with an enthusiastic, firm YES. And that's all that matters. Happy children are better learners—we know this well.
If this resonates with your approach to your child's education, book a tour and visit our bilingual English/Italian primary school in the heart of London. Places available in all year groups from Nursery to Y6. Further details on our website.
