This year some of our year 1 children have been learning about the influential Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama who at 94 years old has been making art for over 70 years and in that time has earned herself the fond name of "princess of polka dotsโ€!

Yayoi Kusama is bringing her largest-ever immersive environment called You, Me and the Balloons to Manchester. It is an exhibition of her inflatable psychedelic creations (some over 10 ft tall) which you can walk through! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿคฉ

On World Book day we were very pleased to welcome Johanne Lee, a local poet and author, into school to talk to the children about her poems and creating picture books. Johanne read some of her poetry and all the children listened beautifully and asked some excellent questions. Some of our KS1 children were asked to do a colouring competition and to state what their dream for life was. Today Johanne had the difficult task of picking three winners from the large pile of amazing art work we had. But here they are... our amazing dreamers with their signed copies of Johanne's books and their art work. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค“๐Ÿฅฐ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ“”๐Ÿ“’๐Ÿ“˜Johanne Lee Author
