We’re getting ready to BLAST OFF on an intergalactic adventure for our next immersive exhibition - and we’re excited that the award winning artist Dapo Adeola and writer Tọlá Okogwu will be creating it with us!

Our space-themed, immersive exhibition will be called The Box Rocket and will open in time for the Easter holidays.

Art and Culture at Chatham library

Join us for the launch of Medway Libraries’ first international art exhibition!

Artists from different countries and continents have explored the concept of ‘art’ and shared their responses.

The artworks present the ongoing, environmental and societal impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic, and the side-effects of the ‘new normal’ we are living in.

The launch will take place at:
Chatham Library, Chatham Community Hub

Medway Culture Club is an independent, community-lead as initiative, which offers supplementary education to support the cultural diversity within Medway.

Born in the Summer of 2020 (amid the global pandemic) Medway Culture Club was formed with the objective of addressing social isolation and promoting racial harmony within Medway. Medway Culture Club was founded by a collective of home-grown local educators and industry professionals who volunteer their time and expertise. They each recognise the need to support diversity and inclusion through community cohesion.

This monthly Saturday club launched with free online events between December 2020 and June 2021 and has delivered monthly in-person sessions since.

It is will great pride that Medway Culture Club is pleased to announce that for the 2nd consecutive year, they have been awarded a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The Club say, this funding will help provide key resources to strengthen their interactive educational service and enable them to team up with individuals and businesses who can offer an added edge to workshops, including a hot lunch.

Medway Culture Club is keen to promote cultural exchange in as many ways as possible and say this support will enable them to offer local children a diverse curriculum and varied learning opportunities and activities at a subsidised cost.

The last MCC session of the year is here! Saturday 3rd December at Woodlands Youth Centre, 11am - 1:30pm.

In this fun and festive session Medway Culture Club will spread a little Christmas cheer as we prepare to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas crafting and cookie baking will be some of the treats in store for the girls and boys who join us to share cultural traditions and storytelling from a special guest!

Medway Culture Club is pleased to welcome Petra, founder of Inspired by Christmas treats popular in Eastern Europe, Petra will share some traditional Czech recipes for the children to bake and enjoy.

Activities will be topped off with a traditional British Christmas lunch delivered from The Star in Gillingham.
