Yesterday we held an UglyBug Ball in our Early Years class. The children dressed as their chosen minibeast and then they prepared some food for our party. They made spider biscuits adding 4 legs each side, fruit kebab butterflies using 3 grapes and 2 wing oranges. They used wraps and ham to make snail shell sandwiches and mini rolls with added eyes for caterpillars. They then played games before enjoying their food.

EYFS are continuing their minibeast topic by looking at snails. They read all about them, then they added some dead leaves (they really like these) and some green leaves to pots and went into the field to see if they could find any. It was amazing how many they found. They then looked closely at them and watched as they left their slimy trail behind. The snails were actually quite speedy as they moved across the paper so they named one Turbo and one Speedy.

As part of their History topic, KS2 have been created models of a typical Anglo-Saxon village. The children had to consider water and food sources, shelter and the materials that were available at that time. KS2 worked so well as a team throughout this project and their models are fantastic!
