Parents across the UK are being urged to look out for symptoms of strep A infection in their children after health officials revealed a rise in cases had led to the death of seven youngsters.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued a rare alert on Friday evening after a rise in cases across the country, telling parents to seek medical help as soon as possible if they detect signs in their children, in order to stop the infection becoming serious.

Symptoms include a sore throat, fever and minor skin infections. In most cases, people can be treated with antibiotics and make a full recovery. In rare cases, however, strep A can become a serious illness, and anyone with high fever, severe muscle aches, pain in one area of the body and unexplained vomiting or diarrhoea should seek urgent medical help.

Our last recruitment drive led to two successful part-time candidates starting with us, who are now well-settled into their new positions, but we still have space for more staff!!

We are a small privately owned pair of nurseries and are looking for exceptional and experienced practitioners to join our friendly teams.

We have full time and part time positions available.

WINTER WELL-BEING BASKETS

Team Well-Being Baskets are now placed & kept stocked for staff to help themselves when they need a little something extra to get through the work day.

We have hot drinks, breakfasts, lunches, hand moisturisers, toiletries, well-being colouring for a few minutes zen & sweet treats.

A fun filled week in the nursery, the DottieTots even got to camp out & have a pretend adventure in Miss Sophie’s jungle van 🌿🌱🌵🍀🍃

Tonight at 6.30pm we are hosting ‘Parents Evening’ where our Kingsley parents will receive their child's ‘Proud Clouds’ (written summary outlining development in prime & specific areas of learning & development).

Parents then have the opportunity to feed back & discuss their child's next steps/future early years planning.

A great idea for Autumn decorating 🍂

Make a conker spider web - a fun nature craft that can be done in preparation for Halloween 🎃 🍂🌰🕸

You just need bamboo skewers or toothpicks, large conkers and wool or thread to wrap around them.

It was one of the activities in our October box last year and this lovely photo was shared by one of our subscribers on Instagram.

Dottie Tots tribute to the life & service of Queen Elizabeth II 👸🏼

Queen Elizabeth II lived an extraordinary life. She accepted a duty that the monarchy brought to her, that was not her chosen path. She reigned with dignity, loyalty and honour and was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and monarch. Her working world was unimaginably vast and encompassed friendships across the globe.

We were lucky to have had her & will treasure our recent correspondence received from the Palace.

Sending the deepest condolences to King Charles III and all the Royal family 💙💕

Promoting good oral hygiene is something that is really important at Dottie Tots.

Teaching our children to clean & look after their teeth is an essential life skill.

Our Tots all enjoy brushing their teeth with their very own bamboo toothbrushes after meal times 😁😁😁

We’ve had so much fun celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee creating our very own portrait card to send to the Palace, crafting crowns & blowing bubble painting in 🇬🇧 colours.

We wonder if the Dottie Tots will receive a reply to their amazing artwork / letter posted to the Palace 🤞👸🏼 👑

This week we hosted a ‘Meet & Greet’ evening where our Kingsley parents / carers were invited into the nursery.

This is an opportunity to discuss their child's next steps & future early-years planning, all whilst enjoying some delicious 🍷 🧀 🍇

Parents / carer partnerships are encouraged so all parties can jointly implement their child’s development with their key person, ensuring we educate the ‘whole’ child.

We ask for verbal &/or written feedback regarding our services to inform our drive for continuous improvement & reflective practice.
