First Class Learning in Enfield

First Class Learning in Enfield

We will be celebrating Janice's life at 11:30 on 1st November at St Stephen's Church, EN1. All most welcome, in bright colours - at Janice's request.

We're asking for family flowers only. Janice remained upbeat about her condition. The aggressive nature of her cancer took doctors, us and Janice by surprise. We will have donation boxes for Bowel Cancer UK at the service, but also wanted to honour Janice's life's work of education and women's empowerment by raising money for Plan International, an international children's charity she supported for 25 years.

The Centre will continue to run, under the capable leadership of Shilpa Shah, supported by Fatma and the staff, and Janice's daughter, Sophie.

More books, more books, more books please!
This is just over 5 minutes to watch, but it's fascinating for anyone who loves nature. Particularly valuable for anyone interested in studying geography or environment.
For those doing Macbeth for GCSE 😊
You'll need a little time for this, but it's brilliant and worth that time.
Ooh - Let's hope there will be some pilot groups in Enfield for our little ones.
Magic words and numbers.

After school support for maths and English, with a warm welcome and positive learning experiences.

Welcome to OpenLearn's 'September Stats'... every day in September we'll bring you a statistic either taken directly from one of our free courses, articles or interactives, or about OpenLearn itself.

So let's start with a 'did you know? stat:
Did you know that OpenLearn has more than 900 free courses currently available? If you completed one a week, starting right now, you'd just about be reaching the end by Christmas Day... 2036!

And that's assuming we don't add any more between now and then... which of course we will!

Learning and improving - the opportunities can be there at any age, though it comes free when you are at school and you don't have to be working for your living at the same time.

Andy McNab: ‘At 16, I read my first book – and it changed my life’ When he joined the army, the author had the reading age of an 11-year-old. But he can still remember the pride he felt at reading his first book

Education and knowledge will build and enhance your character. Wherever there is an opportunity to learn, grasp it with both hands. It is such a privilege that many don't have. At FCL, our learners develop skills in their subjects and it shows in their characters through confidence...and lots of smiles when they reach their goals😊. We love getting them there👏
