This year, the trophy was passed to Alfie in Y6 who consistently plays fair, includes others, recognises the rules of play and pushes himself in everything he does with outstanding sporting success. We are proud of you Alfie, well done! 🏆 👏
Well done to these children who completed the Summer Reading Challenge. They were awarded their certificates in today’s assembly. 👏 📕 📚

Introducing our new School Council. These children were voted to represent their year groups by their fellow class mates during our elections last week. The children learnt about the importance of democracy and how we can work together, respecting everyone’s viewpoints, to make our school a great place to be. Good luck in your new roles.
Y2’s first science lesson of the new school year was to use the scientific skill of observing closely. We used the senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch to explore shells and stones in the classroom. We used our scientist voice to describe the similarities and differences between the objects. Then we went outdoors to observe and describe plants and animals in the school grounds using magnifying glasses. We found several unexpected things. What a wonderful lesson to start the year! 👀🌿🕷️🦗

❗️💻 Introducing our new Autism Information and Support Hub! 💻❗️
📊 We received feedback from families that autism information available previously was dated, and in too many different places. This included feedback from parents and carers to Sendac - Cumbria Parent Carer Forum. In response, we started developing the Autism Information and Support Hub, working closely with SENDAC and other originations. 📊
📣 This is our new central location for all autism information, resources, and links to support. 📣
📝 We are still developing and adjusting the Hub to make improvements. If you spot something that could be better, please let us know by completing the survey at the bottom of this post! 📝
View the Autism Information and Support Hub on the Cumberland Local Offer Website: https://fid.cumberland.gov.uk/kb5/cumberland/directory/advice.page?id=z9pbHY7zYrE
View the Autism Information and Support Hub on the Westmorland and Furness Local Offer Website: https://fid.westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk/kb5/westmorlandandfurness/directory/advice.page?id=Yg9-Sl_RY1I
Please note that for now our Autism Information and Support Hubs are the same across both Council websites - we will be updating these with more local information as the Hub develops.

Words cannot express how proud we are of every single one of our KS2 children who have spent the last 2 nights performing our annual end of year show - Oliver! Performances like these do not come without an awful lot of time, energy, hard work, dedication and resilience. Thankfully our children at St Bridget’s have all these qualities and more in bucket loads! 😀👏 🎭
