I'm sorry to announce that our Student Organiser, Drew Duffy will be leaving the EIS at the end of this month. Drew has done a fantastic job and everyone at the EIS wishes Drew all the best for the future. We will have a new organiser starting in the new year... More on that soon.

If you are heading out today be very careful, most schools will be closed or closing early for pupils but you should check with the school if you're on placement. Forth road bridge will be closed to all traffic from 3PM so stay safe folks!
We are in Stirling Uni today, so come along to the atrium from 10:30. The last ever batch of purple bags are being given away along with some small EIS flags I have left over from the 30th November.

Today is one of the biggest days in trade union history!! I have my stickers, flyers, application forms, little flags an big flags all ready to go!! But it is 1am so better get to bed and off to picket from 7!! Get involved and be part of a huge movement to protect workers across the UK
Yesterday and today we have a group of student teachers from Sweden in Scotland to learn about the induction scheme. Yesterday we had a school visit, met 2 probationers and went to a local authority to see the support put in place. Today we are in EIS HQ to learn about each other and share ideas. Anyone in Edinburgh that would like to get involved then you can come to EIS HQ and join in

An update on the strike action for students
UWS students get down to the union tonight. The EIS have donated 1,000,000 as a prize for you to win & help raise money for children in need! (the prize money is Indonesian Rupiah, worth about £75)
Today is the first ever national education society meeting. Representatives from 5 different TEI are meeting in Stirling Uni to discuss how they can work together and share ideas!
