Oh hi! I thought I’d drop in and share my studio news!! I’m taking over our large studio! It’s getting a face lift, with new lights and the ceiling frame removed and a lick of fresh paint!

It’s got bags of space to ensure that YOU get bags of space around you the moment my workshops can resume.

And all that space means room for more of you when normal life resumes ! Whatever you are up to this weekend have a good one !

Good morning !! It’s been a while since I checked in! I hope you are all safe and well!

January is shaping up to be a busy month here, I’ve got some fairly major studio renovations to get done as when we’re back up and running you’ll find our workshops in our larger studio! This means plenty of space for the current rules and regs and plenty of space for larger groups in the future!

I’ve been grabbing every wave of creativity I’ve had and been designing some new courses and workshops. This infinity pendant is among them and It’s been designed with a focus on soldering in mind. It also ended up being a gift for my future mother in law as it’s bang on her style!

Ive got everything crossed I can welcome you all into my new space soon! Have a lovely weekend !

My wedding ring workshops resumed recently and It’s been lovely to spend a day with some lovely folks! Lots of you (me included) have had to change or postpone our weddings, which has made the workshops all the more special!

I’ve been busy planning a major studio revamp to allow my other courses to start up next year with plenty of space for social distancing and new workshops to boot - so watch this space for more news on that!!

I thought I'd check in and say hello. Ive been quiet as I've tried to come to terms whats going on in the world - like many of you I imagine!

Thanks to those of you who are sticking with me regarding the workshops being postponed, I'll hopefully have them up and running again as soon as its safe to do so!

I've brought my jewellery bench and saw and some bits and bobs home with me - I'll maybe try and do some wee jewellery making videos. Hoping your all well, and staying sane in these difficult times !

This pretty silver & rose gold ring was a commission for a special customer. You could easily create your own with copper instead of the gold at one of our workshops. New course dates are online now :)

Hello :) Gil and I have been busy prepping for exhibiting our jewellery at the ever fab 3d2d and its West End Fair. Find Badger & Baird & Dandillion Gil on the board walk from the 3rd - 11th.

New workshop dates will be up soon, kicking off again mid Sept :)

It’s been a crazy busy summer with corporate events, hen parties, birthday parties, castles, ponies and pooches and wedding ring workshops galore! Our new timetable will be ready soon with our workshops kicking off again in September.

I’m a little late to the party but I do hope you have had a lovely Christmas and happy new year. My own personal nightlight was family time - with a fantastic visit to the light show at the Botanics here in Edinburgh 📸

Saturday the 10th of November is our last full day silver jewellery making experience of 2018. We’ve a couple of spaces left.... no prior experience necessary! Make a ring, make a pair of earrings, make whatever you like 🔨⚒⛏

We currently a bench available to hire here at Summerhall! For £95 a month you'll get access to the studio 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. We have lots of equipment and our residents can also exhibit and sell their work at the Summerhall shop!!

We are taking bookings for Wedding Ring Workshops in 2019 !! On November the 1st the price will rise for the first time in almost a decade to £295. But if you book before the end of October you'll secure a date for the current price of £250.

The workshop fee excludes the cost of the material, but does include our lovely and experienced jeweller to guide you through the process, lunch at Summerhall's fantastic Royal Dick, lots of photos of your day and a bottle of fizz!!

Tonight students at Summerhall School of Jewellery are learning how to begin sketchbook work and mixed media drawing. This course led by Susan MacLeod is sold out however more dates will be made available so do get in touch if you would be interested in creative jewellery making workshops.

Yesterday Agnes travelled to us to learn how to use the amazing material - silver clay. With a focus on making gifts for her family and a love of shells she made these lovely pieces. We even half drilled her pearls for her and love how she set one of them into this shell!

Wonderful work from Dandillion Gil with these beautiful wishes set into resin! Gil is running the course this weekend - I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone makes !
