The beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week, very good range of activities through the week 🧡

Today marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Many asylum seekers, refugees and migrants have faced difficult journeys to arrive in Scotland, and continue to face barriers to employment, education and inclusion in their local communities.

Building a welcoming community is invaluable for the mental health and wellbeing of many New Scots, and we would like to thank all our volunteers and supporters for sustaining our community 🧡

More needs to be done to care for the mental health of New Scots and we all have a responsibility to be welcoming of others.

For all students who are waiting for their SQA results tomorrow,This can often cause uncertainty and anxiousness. REMEMBER - EXAM RESULTS DON’T DEFINE YOU AS A PERSON. Give yourself time to process results and adjust your plan as required. Keep a positive attitude and ask for help or advice.

Due to social distancing and self-isolation as a result of , fraudsters may take advantage and try to target people for their own gain. The most common scams to watch out for are:

👨‍🔬 Fake websites selling products and offering ‘cures’ or testing kits
💻 Bogus websites asking for donations for victims or promoting awareness and inaccurate prevention tips
⏱️ Contacting organisations suggesting they must have certain measures in place by a certain deadline
🚪 People being encouraged to put ribbons/hankies on their doors to indicate they need help with shopping
🚦 The use of window signs to indicate if someone needs support
😷 Home-made sanitisers and inferior face masks being made available on Gumtree and Facebook.

Please be cautious, don’t let them fool you. Look after yourself, each other and your family
