A massive thank you to Paul, who has been out there come rain, shine or snow in his garden - giving our Federation children an excellent opportunity to keep their skills sharp as well as offering them a break from the more traditional elements of the curriculum. A massive 'Thank you' to The Rotary Club of the Hope Valley for their generous donation of £1000 to our Federation Schools to support provision for pupils with dyslexia/dyslexic tendencies! We have some very exciting resources and software on its way 🙂

So much to do at the Edale School Christmas fair! Santas grotto is a must for the children. See you on Saturday 1st.
Swallows Class will be focusing this ½ term on the topic of Clothes and Textiles,
including identifying, sorting and using materials in Science, working with
textiles in Art and Design to create products and gifts for Christmas and
learning how fabrics have been created and used throughout history.
In our outdoor learning role play area the children will be creating a fancy dress
shop and our indoor role play will be transformed into a sewing and design shop
where the children can practise their sewing and clothes design skills as well as
handling different types of fabrics.
The weather was a lot colder this week for forest school, the children enjoyed lighting a fire and needed the extra layers!
Saturday 22nd September. Edale School & Edale Island Open day
Class Swallows and Class Eagles have had an exciting start to the new term and it's the start of a new collaboration with Hope school. Children from Hope school have already been to enjoy Edale Island and join Eagles class. Edale Swallows join Hope every Wednesday afternoon for P.E and other year groups are joining Hope school for various subjects throughout the week. Lots of chance for new friendships to build.
We also welcome our new and enthusiastic head of school Mrs Winfield and Executive headteacher Miss Fisher.

The Great Kinder Beer Barrel challenge is today. Always a fun day out watching the teams complete a very challenging race. BBQ, Bouncy castle and more at The Nags Head pub.
FoES will be there with a vintage sweet stall and Kinder souvenirs. Julie's home made scones with jam and cream. Flapjack and buns for the kiddies, tombola, hook a duck and face painting.
