Join us for our CHRISTMAS FAIR ๐ŸŽ…

โœจ When: Saturday 3 December
โœจ Time: 10am - 12pm
โœจ Location: Busy Bees at Bishops Drive

๐ŸŽ„ We can't wait to welcome you soon!
Our preschool children visited the local library this week.

This was a fantastic experience for the children with lots of learning opportunities. They got the chance to discuss Road Safety with Buzz, how to cross the road and do it safely. The staff and children discussed that we must be holding an adult's hand and look both ways before crossing the road.

At the library, the children listened to a story. The children enjoyed listening and talking about the story after. The children then looked around the library and chose books to read. They then sat and looked through the books on their own or with a friend. The children came back from the library to continue looking at the books in the nursery.
The first five years of a child's life are crucial to their development! ๐Ÿ’•

With the right guidance, care and love, they will build healthy foundations, which will have long-lasting effects in their adulthood too.

We're proudly supporting National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) campaign, which aims to encourage everyone to understand how early years education impacts the first five years of a childโ€™s future.

NDNA's campaign aims to:

๐Ÿ Increase understanding of the importance of early childhood education.
๐Ÿ Better the perception of the early years workforce as educators of young children 0-5.
๐Ÿ Address the recruitment and retention crisis.
๐Ÿ Boost the positive feedback the workforce receives about their work.
๐Ÿ Support the uptake of early years places within settings.

Yesterday in the Bumbles room, the children have been exploring the water in the garden. ๐Ÿ˜

The children all helped get themselves ready putting on their coats, wetsuits and wellies. They then explored the water puddles set up in the tough tray.

The children really engaged in puddle jumping, for some children this was a great chance for them to work on their jumping skills, jumping with both feet seeing how high they can jump and who could make the biggest splashes.
Our preschool children have engaged in their first football session of the term.

The week's theme for the lesson was Magic Islands and the children explored 4 different islands, working on their gross motor skills. The children engaged in throwing and catching, dribbling, whole body movements and scoring goals.

The children engaged and focused on the activities set by Alex, the Football coach. โšฝ

December starts with some wholesome news coming from Busy Bees ๐Ÿค

After hearing about the passing of our beloved Queen, there was a lot of discussion throughout the nursery, especially with the preschool children. So much so that the children asked if they could send a little something to the Queen's family.

The preschool children created a friendship wreath to show their support to the Queen's family, which was sent alongside a letter addressed to King Charles.

Everyone was extremely amazed to receive a card from King Charles himself with thanks for the kind thoughts and wonderful messages! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Lest We Forget ๐ŸŒน

This week, the children have been very busy creating wonderful poppies, wreaths and taking part in lots of activities to remember all of the soldiers who fought for our country.

Early learners may not grasp the full weight of Remembrance Day yet but introducing them to the story and concept of the poppy is a meaningful way of immersing them in the cultural significance of this day.

Happy Halloween, everyone! Here are some spooktacular activities that our nurseries have set up for our little ones. ๐ŸŽƒ

Children had a lot of fun playing with spiders and skeletons, colouring cupcakes with icing sugar, painting their own pumpkins and more. โค๏ธ They also learned what they'll need to think about when trick or treating, with the help of Safety Buzz.

What words did your child use to describe our Halloween activities when you picked them up from nursery? ๐Ÿ˜ Let us know in the comments below.

29/10/2022

Develop your child's creativity as they decorate their pumpkin in a different way. ๐ŸŽƒ

โœจ SAFETY FIRST โœจ
Supervise your child with the chalks and remove any small chalks that may cause a choking hazard. Choose a non-toxic paint for your pumpkin.

โœจ WHAT TO DO โœจ
๐Ÿ‘‰ Select a pumpkin and then paint it with blackboard paint.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Allow the paint to fully dry.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Provide your child with a range of coloured chalks and encourage them to make marks on the surface.

We'd love to see your results so make sure you tag in your posts.

This Black History Month, our nurseries have been celebrating the important contributions and great personalities of black people from around the world. ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸŒ

Children learned about the inspiring story of Rosa Parks, read the book 'What If We Were all the Same' by C.M. Harris, became fascinated by Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' public speech and more.

We loved seeing the spark in their curiosity and we believe that learning about other cultures is what brings us all together.
