✨✨Ash Class Request✨✨
Ash Class have asked FOPS to fund 12 cones for their construction/bike role play area. These are the cones that they have asked for as they are the right size and weight for what they need. If you know of anywhere we can source these for less than £10 each (inc vat) we would be very grateful. Thanks for your help.

The children did amazingly well this morning, they ran around the village twice a full 3 miles, which is a long way for little legs. All of the reception through to our year 6 Children completed the challenge. Thank you so much to the teachers, stewards, parents and everyone running with the children to make this possible. There is still time to donate if you would like to, we are almost at our target! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🎉🎉

FOPS is bringing back the ever popular class room bake sales on the last Friday of each half term. Pine class will be first up on 21st October. FOPS will send home a paper plate with each child in pine class at the beginning of that week with a request to bring in some treats on Friday 21st October. These will be sold in the playground at collection time on the Friday. The money is then held by FOPS for pine class to decide how they wish to spend what they have raised. Thank you for your support as always. FOPS

DCC Public Health Nursing has launched two new websites to provide school age children and their parents/carers with health and wellbeing advice.
• Health for Kids provides information for primary school aged children and includes games, videos and quizzes. The site consists of four different worlds: Staying Healthy, Illness, Feelings and Getting Help. Each world is populated with different areas for children to learn about their health. There is a separate area for grown-ups for in-depth guidance and localised information (www.healthforkids.co.uk/devon).
• Health for Teens provides information and advice for young people, including videos, listicles, quizzes, health information, truths and rumours. There are several different sections ranging from feelings, health, lifestyle, relationships and growing up. There is also a ‘your area’ section which includes information on Devon services and advice from local practitioners (www.healthforteens.co.uk/devon).
Open Evening is coming up! Come and see our school on Wednesday 5th October. We can't wait to meet you and show you how great Cullompton is.
It’s not too late to join in with Activ8 and be part of their Shrek production
This isn't FOPS news as such, but the shop is an important part of our community and we are at risk of losing it. Please get in touch with them if you can help.
Following on from our last post, this is a plea for volunteers to help out in the shop to keep the present opening hours but ideally to extend them.
Whether that’s manning the till, stocking shelves, ordering produce, opening and closing or other back room tasks. It could be for an hour (or more), a regular slot or filling in gaps on the rota.
Training will be provided.
If you want to find out more or you would like to help keep our shop open please email
[email protected].
Until our volunteer numbers have swelled, you may see more of the shop committee temporarily sharing the jobs to be done. This reflects how other community shops operate where all the jobs are shared amongst the volunteers.
We encourage all children to walk, cycle or scoot to school if they can, because teachers tell us that pupils who travel actively arrive more alert and ready for learning as well as generally happier.
Even if your family can only make the change a couple of days a week, or for just one leg of the journey to and from school, it will make a big difference.
If your child isn’t able to walk, cycle or scoot, could they use public transport instead? Or perhaps they can combine the two? And if you do have to drive your child to school, please consider parking a 10 minute walk away to help keep the school entrance clear of traffic.
We have just received notification that Amazon has donated £11.45 to FOPS as a result of AmazonSmile programme activity between 1 April and 30 June 2022. We receive donations quarterly and they cost parents and carers nothing!
If you use Amazon PLEASE SIGN UP! It's really, really easy - just go to https://smile.amazon.co.uk and search for Friends Of Plymtree School (use the caps otherwise it doesn't find us!)
Just use your existing Amazon login - it works and looks exactly the same as 'normal' Amazon. The difference being that Amazon Smile donates a small percentage when you buy things.
