Tiny Teddies Childcare Services

I am happy with the nursery setting and the staff have been amazing. However, I feel difficult having to pay for a bank holiday session when the setting is closed, just a couple of days after our first session.

How this is charged isn't a fair practice, a simple example would be my child is starting only a few days before the bank holiday but I already need to pay for a service that doesn't take place; whereas some other parents could avoid this entirely by not signing up a Friday session. It is unfair why some parents are put in a disadvantage position, why only some parents need to pay for staff's holidays.

So my advice for future parents would be to avoid Mondays and Fridays if you do not want to pay for a holiday session that you cannot attend.
We want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Tiny Teddies Childcare Services ❤

It's thanks to them that we're able to bring the biggest ever Pickled Bingo to you this Friday night for Cash for Kids Day 🌈

Thank you for seeing my little girl through her growth. Thanks to you she has grown up to be cheerful little lady. Thanks to all the staff at Whitely branch for your support and patient. It started with my son and ended with my daughter. A special thanks to Lauren and Rachel I know we go way back. Thanks you.
During lockdown Rhys and Imogen have been taking good care of the Tiny Teddies Bear ‘Bertie’. He was originally supposed to join us on our travels to Cardiff for the Six Nations Rugby but Lockdown put a stop to that! So instead Bertie has joined us on our expeditions and picnics. We will return him safe and sound when we are allowed to!
Rhys and Imogen are missing everyone at Mount Street Nursery! Can’t wait to see you all again! Rhys has learnt some new numbers and letters and has been busy learning the names of flowers and birds. Imogen is now crawling and starting to try some new words and sounds.
Tai is missing all his friends at Tiny Teddies Radford. His birthday is the end of May and we had intended on having a party and inviting everyone. Obviously that will not be happening now. Anyone who would like to exchange details so when the lockdown is lifted we could have a play date at park before they go off to school then please message me. He's asking daily where his friends are!

Well done to the girls who are still providing care to key workers! Superstars!
Saw you on the news yesterday, well done everybody!! 👏👏👏

The holiday club is seemingly ran professionally unlike some other holiday clubs we visited locally. I had feelings of apprehension as my child has both autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and without knowledgeable child workers it isnt always possible for me to leave my child . The staff at the st agustins site have provided my child with great care he had so much fun and has some great stories to tell his friends when he goes back to school ,from lolly pop making to baking jam tarts , plate decorating and not forgetting the amazing day with water guns in the sunshine ! All the children seem so happy in the club which gave me all the reassurance I needed. Thank you to the staff for your hard work especially to jenna who i feel went that extra mile & took the time to understand my child and his needs enabling him a safe happy environment to stay and play this summer ! X next time I shall know to book up sooner the only down side was we had a limited amount of days on offer for a place due to my own fault of booking up later 👍

Mud play can provide numerous benefits for children's development and well-being. Here are some of the key benefits of mud play for children:

👉 Sensory Development: Mud play engages children's senses as they touch, feel, and manipulate the mud. It provides a unique sensory experience that helps develop their tactile senses, which are essential for their overall sensory processing and integration skills.

👉 Creativity and Imagination: Mud play encourages children to use their creativity and imagination to explore and create with mud. They can make mud pies, build structures, or create mud sculptures, which promotes their imaginative play skills and fosters their creativity.

👉 Physical Development: Mud play involves physical activity, such as digging, scooping, pouring, and manipulating mud, which helps develop children's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and strength. It also provides opportunities for gross motor skills development as they move and play in the mud, enhancing their physical development.

On Friday the children at Radford had a lovely afternoon tea party to celebrate the Coronation of the King, then the rain and thunder came along but that didn't stop the children from having a lovely afternoon celebrating!

The children at Radford have been preparing to celebrate the King's coronation. So far Tumbling Teds made the British flag out of rice which was dyed, they also made a palace out of a dolls house and created the British flag using dabber pens. Pre school made a HUGE Buckingham Palace, made a bus to get to the palace and made a Kings guard and Big bears learnt about British food. We have lots more activities to come! Who is excited for tomorrows coronation?

The children at Radford have dressed up as Princes and Princesses to celebrate the Kings Coronation tomorrow!

Who loves pizza? 🍕

Here's a fun and delicious pizza recipe that parents can cook with their children! Here's a simple recipe:

1 pound of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup of pizza sauce
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
Toppings of your choice (e.g. sliced mushrooms, chopped onions, sliced bell peppers, pepperoni, cooked sausage, etc.)

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a circle (or rectangle) shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

Transfer the pizza dough to a lightly greased baking sheet or pizza stone.

Spread the pizza sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edge.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the pizza sauce.
Add your desired toppings.

Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Cooking pizza with children is a great way to spend time together, and they will love being able to choose the toppings and help assemble the pizza. Enjoy! ❤️

The preschool children at Radford have been celebrating Alien Day by searching for Alien objects using magnifying glasses. The children also explored the different textures of objects. 😀

The pre school children at Radford have done activities today based on chickens! The children learnt the different types of egg you can make and the children made some chickens out of playdough!

Pre school children at Radford had a lovely surprise visit today by some chickens! Rose brought in her chickens as part of her activity of learning the life cycle of them! The children read to them, played music to them and made them feel at home!

The Big Bears at Radford are setting an inspirational example by reading Jack and the Beanstalk! The children went beyond the written word and used their creativity to make a beanstalk and bring the story to life! By taking an active role in their learning these children are showing what enthusiasm and hard work can really do.

The children love to get creative with different craft materials! 🥰

Crafts activities allow children to work on their own and make decisions independently, helping them develop some independence.

Foot spa time! 🧘‍♀️

Engaging the senses combined with learning is the perfect activity for sparking children's natural curiosity.

Tips for teaching children to care for animals 🐶

- You don’t need to have pets for your child to begin to care for animals. It can be as simple as just looking for bugs and worms in your back garden or local park! Children will see the animals in their natural habitat. You can also discuss what the minibeasts eat and how they move while looking under rocks and leaves.

- If you have a pet or you have family/friends with pets then it could be a good idea to gently introduce your child to the pet! When children gently touch a dog or cat's fur, they begin to understand that all animals need to be treated with kindness, care and respect.

- Children learn by watching. Show them how to approach and interact with pets in a calm and gentle manner.
