This lovely lady leaves Numidia today 😥. We thank you, Danielle, for the energy, enthusiasm, joy and positivity that you brought to the company and to the roles that you undertook. You came into your own on the Progress programme with your ability to engage and motivate young people and help them build their confidence and self esteem so that they could progress into work. You have been an absolute star 🌟. We know you will be amazing in your new role and we wish you the very best of luck and much love always in the future. Thank you for all that you have done. Keep shining, Danielle # # 🌟🌟🌟
Our fabulous ESF/BBO funded programme, helping young people progress into employment or education, finishes in a couple of weeks. There's so much sadness that there is no replacement funding in place and that essential support for people who need it will no longer be there. This young person's feedback sums things up and leaves us feeling emotional. "The understanding of the individual that struggles, not only in life, but in finding a passion that results in having a positive look at life rather than a hopeless one – without this programme I would not be writing this now! This programme has gone over my expectation! It has made me less anxious and more confident being out in public and dealing with people as a whole. It gave me opportunity after opportunity until I found my purpose in life, for now. I am grateful that it was always something new and expanded my knowledge for the future. I am very disappointed that this programme is finishing for good as I believe others, from my own experience, could benefit and save young people’s lives for the better. Taking away this programme is taking away the future of people without hope!"
Progress Well-being Art workshop. 14/02/23. Dreamcatchers and pizza! 🍕
Some of our Numidia Centres over the last twenty years - not including Torrington Avenue, Coventry Central Library or Bedworth #2. We've also delivered at some great outreach locations including Tyler House, in Stratford-upon-Avon, Benn Partnership in Rugby, Hill Street Centre in Rugby and WCAVA in Nuneaton.
A fabulous, festive, well-being craft workshop took place yesterday for our Progress participants at our Leamington centre.
This morning I visited Charlie’s Coffee Shop in Coventry town centre. The shop forms part of a recovery community and all proceeds go directly into The Dynamo Project. The Dynamo Project offers support to anybody struggling with addiction related issues. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction you can pop into Charlie’s Coffee Shop and ask to ‘Speak to Charlie’ or visit www.thedynamoproject.co.uk 024 76 123123.
Today is a sad day because our loyal, dedicated and hardworking friend and colleague leaves Numidia after nearly 15 years' service. Charlotte joined us when we were based at our original centre in Torrington Avenue and has been a key member of staff across all of our centres since then (Coventry Central Library, Park Road, Atherstone, Bedworth x2, Nuneaton and more latterly, Leamington Spa. We estimate that Charlotte must have conducted IAG and registrations for over 8000 learners during this time. Charlotte has been a favourite team member and friend to all of the staff we have worked with over the years, especially to Lorraine, Nasser, Leila, Jane, Anna, Hardeep and Danielle whom she worked particularly closely with. Who can forget the ace LITUK team? We have shared stressful times with the funny times - and you have always been there. We are sad to see you leave but wish you every success, lots of love and good luck in your new role. Thank you for being just lovely! 😄🥳👏👋😓🌷🧁🍾🥂 We will miss you! # #
A BIG thank you to all those participants, past and present, who attended the Progress Celebration event last Wednesday evening at FarGo Village. It was fantastic to see so many of you there! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Thank you very much and all the best to you all in the future! 👍🤩🙌 — at FarGo Village Coventry
Another great opportunity for our Progress participants to get out of town, have fun, learn and experience new things and make friends! V noisy though! 🕹🤖👾🕹🤖👾
Here is a lovely testimony from Reece, a participant on Progress since November 2019. Reece has been a fabulous participant on the programme, always ready to help and encourage others. Here is his story........
When I was first referred to Numidia and the Progress programme I had zero confidence in myself. I did not know what I wanted to do with my life because I never really thought about it. Then I met my Progress Coaches; Danielle, Charlotte and Lorraine who spent the past 15 months working with me to build my confidence, support me throughout online training courses, encouraged me to gain qualifications and helped me to get into the world of work.
I am now employed successfully with the support of the great team at Numidia and through the Progress programme. I started a job as a Customer Assistant at Dominos Pizza in Leamington Spa on 18th March 2021. Being on the Progress programme is one the best decisions I have made to date; I have attained lots of qualifications, gained in confidence; have less stress and more motivation. I've made friends with people from all backgrounds and, in turn, created some amazing memories that will I cherish for the rest of my life.
I have had such an amazing experience. I went on multiple courses such as Motorvate Safe Driving course - if anyone else gets the chance to go there I would highly recommend it! I have improved my English and maths qualifications with Learn2. I have even had the opportunity to take part in valuable webinars through Zoom with Emily from Innovating Minds on important topics such as stress and managing anxiety. These have been really helpful throughout the pandemic. I also enrolled on a range of online courses throughout the three lockdowns to help me to gain more qualifications to give me a better chance of employment.
It is through the Progress programme that I was able to apply skills and interview techniques that have helped me secure my first job. It was helpful that I was able to talk to Lorraine and Danielle ahead of time to help me prepare for these interviews. The notes I was supplied with were invaluable and helped me to structure my answers and confidently put myself forward in an interview environment.
I would actively encourage anyone in the same position as me to join the Progress programme; to help springboard you into the world of work! I am happy that I am able to move forward with my career but also sad to be leaving the programme. The time spent with Progress is not going to be forgotten and I wish the whole of the Numidia Team and my Progress Coaches all the best for the future.
Reece - 18/03/2021
Morning all. This page has been a little quiet in recent months as we have been busy supporting young adults across South Warwickshire on the Progress Programme through our dedicated Progress page. Despite the challenges, participants are making excellent progress with many entering into employment and further education. To all our previous learners, friends and colleagues we just wanted to say a hello and hope that you are all safe and well. 😀
We’re back! Albeit in a careful and gradual manner. Lots of new health and safety measures have been put in place. It’s been good to get back. Existing participant, Reece commented ... “If I hadn’t had the support of Progress during lockdown I feel I would’ve struggled a lot. It felt comforting to have a different voice to talk to when in a lockdown situation with others 24/7. The closed Progress Facebook group meant I felt connected and got to know each other better. It was interesting to see what each other were doing.” 👍😁
