It is with the greatest sadness we share with you the news of the loss of one of our Jack & Jill family, Brooklyn Dunn
Brooklyn attended Jack and Jill Playgroup from the end of 2010 until he started school in 2013. He was a cheeky, sparky, fun loving toddler, with the biggest grin and tumbling blonde curls, who was always full of energy and charisma. He was soon joined by his two younger sisters and little brother, who he adored and protected with a fierce devotion.
Sadly, on February 28th Brooklyn passed away, however we wanted to take this opportunity to pay tribute to him as one of our J&J family, and to send our love and deepest condolences to his Mum Katy, Dad Barry, and to Chelsea, Phoenix, little Jamie, big Jamie and all of Brooklynβs family and friends.
We are all heartbroken by the news. He brought the staff at Jack and Jill so much joy and laughter and it was a delight to be a part of his journey. His infectious giggle, sparkling personality and amazing character will never be forgotten.... Rest in peace Brooklyn, like Peter Pan, you are flying high now in Neverland...

What's your best memory of Jack and Jill? We'd love to hear some of you sharing your stories and photos!!!

Absolutely phenomenal send off for our beloved Terry today. A glorious day with the sun shining brightly on a chapel packed from end-to-end with people who knew Terry, wishing to pay their respects to a man so well loved within the Tile Hill community.
It was wonderful to hear so many stories from so many different people about how he touched their lives and the generosity, love and help he gave to people and the time he had for absolutely everybody. From the words of members of the community, to the eulogy, to the tribute from his sons...it was clear to see the regard in which he was held.
A man taken way too soon, who still had so much to give, Terry will be deep missed by all of us at Jack and Jill.
Rest in peace.π΅

Tributes paid to Tile Hill community leader

Tributes paid to Tile Hill community leader Terry Harvey was a tireless campaigner for Tile Hill and a charity fundraiser

It is with deepest sadness we share with you all the news of the passing of one of our dearly beloved trustees, Terry Harvey.
Terry stepped onto the playgroup committee to help to support the management and running of the setting. He tirelessly campaigned to keep the playgroup open in its final few months and tried to source us a new home and his cheery face, optimism and endless jokes kept all the staff in high spirits right up until the nursery doors closed for the final time.
He was dedicated to the residents of Tile Hill and supporting his local community and made a difference to many, many lives and he will not be forgotten. His presence will be very much missed by all of those whose lives he touched especially through his dedication and support of Jack and Jill playgroup, it's staff, families and the children.
Terry may you rest peacefully, our thoughts are with your family and friends at this difficult time.

Wishing you all a wonderful bank holiday weekend! π Enjoy the break before normality resumes and school starts again!!!

How would you use yours?
As many of you know, ALL pre-school children are entitled to 15 hours of Early Years Education per week from the term after their 3rd birthday...
From September 2017 the government intends to allocate an additional 15 hours (bringing the total 30 hours "free" childcare) for children of working parents to help with ever increasing childcare costs.
The survey attached looks at the plans and wants YOUR views on this and how you would like to be able to use it.
Please share your views!!!!

We've closed our doors we've said goodbye,
We've hugged, we've laughed and had a cry
And though it's time for pastures new
We'll remember EVERY one of you!
Thank you everyone who came in today and made the last ever day of Jack and Jill Playgroup one to remember. It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve the local families over the years and we will never forget the memories we have made with you all.
To our wonderful trustees, to Pam and Joyce for their support, to the ex staff, parents and children who have popped in to say goodbye, to those who donated their time to run activities and to the local businesses who have supported us both in the past and this week on our final hoorah, we cannot thank you enough for working so hard. It has been an amazing journey and we can't believe it's over.
With love to you all... Always...

From All The Staff & Volunteers At Jack & Jill:
FOREVER IN MY HEART
Although I'm not their mother
I care for them each day,
I cuddle, sing and read to them
And watch them as they play.
I see each new accomplishment,
I help them grow and learn.
I understand their language,
I listen with concern.
They come to me for comfort,
And I kiss away their tears.
They proudly show their work to me,
I give the loudest cheers!
No, I'm not their mother,
But my role is just as strong.
I nurture them and keep them safe,
Though maybe not for long.
I know someday the time will come,
When we will have to part.
But I know each child I cared for,
Is forever in my heart!
Love Claire, Nikki, Louise, Bernie, Bernardine, Charlotte, Cherelle, Claire D, Lisa, Luba, Moira and Sally ###
