As you may know, the UK-Indonesia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Sciences (UKICIS) was recently launched with strong support from both the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in London and British Embassy in Indonesia.
The aims of UKICIS align closely with those of IUKSN, which was founded by the University of Warwick in 2016 as a platform to connect UK and Indonesia-based researchers and funders for potential collaboration on topics of mutual interest.
As a founding member of UKICIS, Warwick proposes to discontinue IUKSN and channel its efforts to connect UK and Indonesian researchers through the broader, consortium-based structure of UKICIS instead. This is an exciting development for all of us! 😃
Thanks for your support for IUKSN 🙏. It's been a great ride and we hope to stay in touch through UKICIS instead. Please check out the UKICIS website at: https://www.ukicis.org.uk

PPI UK Full-day Workshop: How to Write a Policy Brief?
PPI UK POLICY WORKSHOP for UK-based Indonesian research students. Details below.
Registration closes today, 28 July!
UCL Indonesian Society and Overseas Development Institute (ODI), PPI-UK proudly presents a Full-day Workshop: "How to Write a Policy Brief?" This free event is for 30 Indonesian postgraduate and doctoral students in the UK who are interested in public policy discussion and advocacy.
As we know, a policy brief is the manifestation of researchers’ contribution to policy making processes by providing scientific-based evidence, arguments, and ideas. Using this tool, researchers can pack their research finding on any particular issue to become policy alternatives and recommendations. However, policy brief writing needs a unique technique consisting of distinct approach, style, and method. It is our responsibility, PPI-UK as a platform of Indonesian student in the United Kingdom, helping you to contribute to the development of our country. Therefore, through this workshop, we aim to enhance your capacity in writing policy recommendation for the decision makers.
Date: Friday, 04 August 2017
Time: 10.00 – 17.00 GMT
Place: Engineering Front Building 103, University College London, Torrington Place, London WC1E7JE
The registration will be open until 28 July 2017, and the announcement of acceptance will be on 30 July 2017. So please, register here http://bit.ly/2taLGw1 and send your CV to [email protected]
