Petition: Parliament to sit on Saturdays which should be a "normal working day" for MPs. Doctors have been told that Saturdays are part of the "normal working" week so that the Government can avoid paying them extra to do so. MPs should lead by example and meet on a Saturday too. With their new 6 day week MPs would get more Parliamentary work done. There should be no extra pay for this.

Hello everyone,

Thanks to one of the first years, the medical school in partnership with TEDMED London is providing grants for students to attend the 2014 TEDMED London event - which is on Easter Monday 2014. The link to the applications are below, and they will be closed on the 23rd of December- allowing you to buy tickets early enough in case you don't get the grant as they will sell out (prices start from £20, the one in America cost $4,000+). The applications are reviewed by WMS and the TEDMED London team.

Speakers will be announced in 2014 but I can confirm that our host will be : Dara O'Briain.

It would be great to have as many as you guys there as possible- trust me when I say there is no better medical event or venue!

All the instructions for the grants are on the website, but if you have any questions feel free to contact Ali at [email protected].
