Hi Folks
We have spaces available to work one to one with a Trainee Therapist for £15 per session.
Sessions available during the day Monday to Friday and Saturday Mornings.
Please note that all Trainee's already hold a Counselling Certificate and are working towards a Diploma in to become a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT).
All Trainee's work on evidence based CBT Models in an ethical confidential manner.
Please note that Trainee's only work with presenting issues such as Mild to Moderate Anxiety, Depression, Self-Esteem, Phobias and other mild Anxiety disorders.
Unfortunately those who present with Risk, PTSD or Other more complicated Mental Health Issues or under the Age of 16 would only be able to work with a Qualified Therapist.

Received this today.
Just over 10 years ago I turned 50 and one of these bowel screening tests popped through my door.
I remember laughing and making a joke of it saying imagine getting that for my birthday.
This turned out to be the best present I ever got. I did the test and sent it away. I hadn't felt ill and never had any pains so never thought anything of it. A week or so later I got a letter back saying they found blood in the sample. A fee weeks later I had to go to hospital for tests. It turned out I had Bowel Cancer.
A while after I had an operation and was lucky the cancer hadn't spread. This little test saved my life. Not only that it changed my life entirely. I went to therapy to help me process this. Therapy helped so much that I decided to change my career and become a therapist. I have to say the last 10 years have been the best years of my life.
So if you get one of these tests sent to you, don't throw it away this can literally save and change your life.

Underneath all this Narcissism is a scared young child who has developed away of protecting themselves. This has turned ugly and now affects others.
Seek help to heal or you will end up bitter and lonely.
Cara, Hugh and Elaine are still out daily doing a cold water a 31 day challenge to raise money for the Centre. Yesterday's air temp was -7°C at Black Loch. Only a few months ago they attended one of our Cold Water Therapy groups (CWT) and were completely new to CWT. Watching them grow and getting so much benefit is humbling to see. Children's Hospices Across Scotland | CHAS Home Support Volunteers visit families in their own homes to provide practical support. This can include helping with housekeeping, spending time with siblings, meal preparation, or other tasks to ‘lighten the load’ of family life.
Anger is a mistaken emotion. Often it is deemed, someone is bad for being angry. Anger is an essential secondary emotion, we tend to resort to anger in order to protect ourselves from or cover up other vulnerable feelings. Suppressed anger can be an underlying cause of anxiety and depression. Anger that is not appropriately expressed can disrupt relationships, affect thinking and behavior patterns, and create a variety of physical problems.

A few of u will know iv got myself into cold water therapy and loving it...mad I know!
There's a group of us (the water wavers)have met through cold water therapy groups run by Lanarkshire Counselling & CBT Centre and we have set ourselves a challenge of a dip a day in January.
The centre was set up by Colin and his wife and provides services to the community individually and in groups and have been a lifeline for those in the community and beyond before during and after covid.
Getting the right support for your loved ones is so hard and heartbreaking to watch and not being able to help. Finding the right support can change someone's life, someone you trust someone who gets it and provides a safe space. Iv also benefited from the centre attending a menopause course which led to the cwt.
I'm looking for your support to motivate me on my dips which have so many benefits, if you could spare a couple pounds I'd be extremely gratefull. This will provide support to those in need.
So far we have hit our initial target, a huge thank you to all that have supported me. We have 22 days to go and I'm sure we will smash the target and it will be fantastic to give something back to the centre.

Due to the success of the last group, We will be running it again next month. It was wonderful to witness the bond the women who attended the previous group created and we look forward to having you in February and hopefully experience this within the safe space we aim to create for you.
This is an opportunity to learn more about yourself with a group of other women who experience similar challenges.
If you ever found yourself experiencing self-doubt, self-blame, self-criticism, worthless feelings and/or doubting your abilities, get in touch.

So as most of you know, I started cold water therapy through Lanarkshire Counselling and CBT Centre in May of last year and that was after already attending the centre from February 22 for therapy. I am just one single wee person that the centre has directly helped and they have become an absolute lifeline for the community with all the amazing work they do. Our group the Water Wavers are wanting to do something to give a little back to them so they can continue with their amazing work by doing a 'Dip-a-Day' January! It may sound counterintuitive, but sometime we have to slow down to achieve more. Rushing about increases Anxiety and Stress. Exceeding our stress tolerance on a regular basis leads to anxiety, panic attacks, health concerns, and other long-term problems. As we live in a fast-paced world full of potential stressors, we need to take care to recognize them, see how they make us feel, and manage them so that they don't cause chronic stress.
When setting Goals for the New year, its worth considering if they are Achievable. Be realistic and set Smart Goals.
What are SMART Goals?
Goals are part of every aspect of business/life and provide a sense of direction, motivation, a clear focus, and clarify importance. By setting goals, you are providing yourself with a target to aim for. A SMART goal is used to help guide goal setting. SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. Therefore, a SMART goal incorporates all of these criteria to help focus your efforts and increase the chances of achieving your goal.

🥶 Introduction to Cold Water Therapy and it's benefits for Mental Health 🥶
If you have heard about the benefits of Cold Water Therapy ( CWT) and have thought you would like to try it but maybe a little afraid where to start. This group maybe for you.
The aim of the group is to introduce cold water therapy as a tool to help with Mental Conditions like Anxiety and Depression.
There has been so much research carried out on the benefits of cold water therapy. Some of the benefits include.
Improved Mental Health.Motivation.Boost the immune system.Improve circulation.Deepen sleep.Boost energy levels.Reduce inflammation.Improve metabolic function.Improve mood.

The group will begin at our Centre in Coatbridge on Wednesday 18th January for 6 x weeks from 7pm to 9.00pm.
Throughout the course we will discuss anxiety/depression and teach you coping strategies based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) around our thinking and behaviours.
Cold water is an excellent teacher in regards to facing our fears and how using the correct breathing techniques can prevent us from activating the Fight, Flight response.
In between each week we will ask you to include CWT on a daily bases or at least 3/4 times a week. Either with a short Cold Shower, Bath or Other.
Weeks 3 and 6 plus 1 x other weekend dip in between, we will go as a group to the Black Loch in Lanarkshire for some outdoor cold water immersion, discussion and support.
More details will be given after application.
Both myself Colin Caruth and Sophie Bryson regularly do cold water therapy and both have felt massive benefits as a result of this.
This group will be conducted in an inspiring gentle manner to help you understand your self and guide you in a compassionate way to feel more calm, relaxed and hopefully help you to truly believe in yourself. The group will also give you an opportunity to meet others and who knows an opportunity to create an new hobby, meet new people and make new friendships.
Please note:
Only apply for this if you believe you can commit for the full six weeks and you really feel this is the right time for a challenge and are ready to make the changes you deserve. We really want the very best for those who come along.
Safety note: We aim to introduce you to Cold Water Therapy in a gentle way to help you build up and deal with the inititial shock of the cold. Unfortunately if you are currently pregnant, have any heart or circulation problems this group may not be for you without advice from your Gp. It would also be worth contacting your Gp if you have any other health conditions you may be concerned about.
