Thank you to our wonderful PTFA for supporting the Easter Bonnet competition again this year! We had some incredibly creative designs and all of the winners were presented with Easter eggs. Well done to all the children who took part - it was so hard for the judges to choose winners!

Happy Birthday to one of our very good boys, Jenson! Jenson always has a warm snuggle for anyone who needs a cuddle and waggy tail to make all of our school family smile! We love you Jenson and hope you have a lovely day with an extra long walk and game of fetch! ❤️

We are so proud of our Year 5 class who represented our whole school family at St Paul’s Cathedral. They learnt about the significance of the Cathedral and then they worked together and supported each other to complete the Dome climb. After that, they then stayed for Evensong.

Members of the congregation congratulated staff for having such a beautifully behaved and impeccably mannered class and we have been invited to return again. Well done Year 5!

We would like to wish all of our fabulous school community a blessed, happy and restful Easter weekend and holiday. X

We had an amazing World Book Day celebration today! We transformed our school into Neverland and were full of mermaids from the Lagoon, pirates from Hook’s Jolly Roger, Tiger Lilly, fairies, Wendy, Michael, John and Peter Pan himself! The children did a range of challenges and produced some amazing work all about this classic, beautiful children’s story.

Thank you to all our parents, carers, staff and children for working together to make such a magical day happen!

Thank you to our lovely PTFA for spreading the love at St Andrew’s today.

We love all of our school community just as they are - today and all year round! X

Congratulations Mrs Fawcett! Don’t panic - she isn’t leaving us and will still be our headteacher!

We're delighted to announce the appointment of Diane Fawcett as our Trust International Ambassador.

After recently visiting and speaking at an international education conference in China, Diane is the perfect fit for this role.

She shared, "Learning about and celebrating the uniqueness of different cultures and providing comparisons with our own enables our children to recognise and value their place in the world."

When speaking to one of her pupils about international collaboration, Ellie in Year 6 shared, "We are not so different – if adults could learn to understand each other better and focus on the common goals that we all have, the world would be a better place." 🌎

We can't wait to see where Diane takes this new role in 2024! 🎉

This Christmas, the Vine Schools Trust central team decided to donate to Chelmsford Foodbank, run by The Trussell Trust. 🎄

The act of giving to those who are struggling during the festive season holds spiritual significance to us as a Christian Trust. It reflects the embodiment of Christ's teachings on compassion and goodwill towards others.

The Trussell Trust are a nationwide network of food banks, providing emergency food and support to people facing hardship, and campaigning for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.

You can find out more about how to support your local foodbanks here:

We would like to wish all our school family, including children, parents and carers, our friends across the Vine Trust and our community the most wonderful and joy-filled Christmas.

This Christmas, we pray for health, happiness and a new year full of blessings and success.

With all our love,
the staff at St Andrew’s. Xx

Don’t wake the Baby sung by KS1! Merry Christmas! X

We all know how busy Santa is in December especially, but the PTFA sent word to him about how all the children at St Andrew’s deserve to be on the good list and so he came to see them all with a gift! He brought one his elves with him too!

To our wonderful PTFA, thank you for keeping in touch with Santa and helping him to organise this special visit!

Year 6 (and honourary members of Year 6 from Year 5) have had the most amazing week at Aylmerton for their residential! We are very proud of them for showing all of our school values, representing St Andrew’s all around Norfolk and being so mature and loving. The instructors even commented on their kindness and generous spirits! Well done Year 6 - you are amazing!

KS2 enjoyed a wonderful performance of The Snow Queen this week! They all had a brilliant time and learnt that no matter how far we travel, and how desperate a situation may be, love is eternal.

Happy St Andrew’s Day, with love from all the children at staff at St Andrew’s! X

St Andrew’s has some more published authors! Some of whom are as young as 5! We are so proud of you all - well done!

Mrs Fawcett and Mrs Wigmore have arrived safely in China. Here they are at the welcome banquet with the other partnership headteachers.

Our year 6 class have been taking part in Tendring Junior Ambassadors which is a programme to educate children about cultures all around the world. We have had many visitors to teach the children about their culture - here the children are having a go at Chinese calligraphy as part of a workshop all about China. What a fabulous job they did too!

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. 🕊️x

We wish Mrs Fawcett and Mrs Wigmore the safest of travels as they embark on their adventure to China to visit our partner schools.

Here is a message from Mrs Fawcett:

Good afternoon all

This morning I had the privilege of visiting another of our Vine schools to meet the Director of Education for the Jiangsu Province, his International Liaison lead, the lead educational researcher from the University of Shanghai Nanjing, the head of HR services for the schools in Jiagnsu, one of the inspectors from the province, and some of their school colleagues. They enjoyed their time in the school this morning, we visited lessons and had a very high powered discussion about forging relationships between the Vine and some of their schools, with particular focus on the teaching of maths. The Director has given me the most beautiful gift for our school, a scroll of poetry written by some of the children in our partner school! The group I met oversee approximately 99 000 teachers - each with 40 - 80 children in their class - perhaps your children would like to tackle this maths to work out how many children that is...

I will continue to send as many updates as I can whilst I am away in China next week - though likely at odd times of the day or night due to the 8 hour time difference…

I love you all very much- take care of one another whilst I'm gone🥰

See you on Monday 20th! Xx

We are partnering with Ambition Institute to provide teacher training. If you are interested in becoming a teacher, see the attached poster and scan the QR code for more information.

Alternatively, feel free to come and have a chat with Miss Robertson!

We are so proud of all the children for an amazing first half term! We have been on some amazing trips, welcomed and impressed visitors, celebrated the magic of Disney, won a regional award for our amazing allotment, have produced some more published authors and already made fabulous progress across the curriculum!

Well done to every single one of the children - we can’t wait to see you again after half term!

Love from your St Andrew’s staff family x
