We’ve been quiet for a while but we are back with our first event of 2023, the Lavant duck race! A great family event. Please support the school and help us to raise money by sponsoring a duck or a few ducks for £1 each and you could win a prize! It’s great fun so do come along too!

We are excited to see everyone later at the bbq. Remember to bring your ticket and bbq coupon and a chair or blanket to sit on.
And don’t forget your dancing shoes!

🎟It’s not too late to get your tickets! 🎟You can ring the school office to let them know you would like to come if you have not sent your money in yet. A huge thankyou to all who are supporting this event.

Tickets are being sent home very soon. Each person will receive a ticket and a coupon. The ticket is to get in to the event and the coupon is for your burger or hot dog. Dont forget to let us know about any dietary requirements when you purchase your tickets!

Tickets will be on sale at the summer bbq.

The bottle tombola is one of a few fun things at the summer bbq. We will have a few activities included in your ticket price, as well as fun games costing 50p with prizes! The weather looks good so far too! ☀️🍾🧴

Let us know any dietary requirements when you send in ticket money and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Have you got your tickets for the bbq yet? There will be lots of parking available at the school.

This was first planned for 2020! We are so happy that we can now look forwards to this fun family event in just a few weeks. We hope you can come along and support your school and have great fun!

Based on feedback from the 1st in this series of 4 sessions, WSCC has made some changes to this new session which include:

· Breakout rooms for discussions
· Reduced group size
· More focused engagement sessions
· Encouraging more dialogue

✨ Post 16 - with Paul Morrison, SEN Post 16 Officer

1. What is Post 16?
2. Legal requirements
3. What’s on offer/the different options for Post 16?
4. The part EHC plans play in Post 16
5. Transition planning
6. Question and answer session

✨ Special Educational Needs Support in Educational Settings - with Nikki Gibbins, Project Manager

This session looks at ‘Support for children and young people with SEND in educational settings - What do you need to know & understand?’

Professionals from SENAT, Specialist Advisory Teacher Teams and SEND & Inclusion Advisers will be present.

⚡To consider: If the Local Authority was to develop a guide for families whose children have SEND, what do you need in it? What is missing currently that would help you navigate the education system now in the past?

At the last session there were questions around EHCPs and individual responses were provided at the time. This session seeks to build on that & look at all options available to children & young people with SEND.

✨ General Listening Session

Representatives from health, education & social care will be available to answer SEND-related questions. They're keen to hear where things aren’t working, along with ideas on improvements.

💥Talking Heads - Next Steps into Employment

💥10:30am on Wednesday 26th May

💥An hour session lead by Supported Employment West Sussex, sharing the support options available to young people aged 16+ with lifelong disabilities in West Sussex who are thinking about finding paid work, including apprenticeships and self-employment.
💥This session will also cover support options available for you as Parent Carers with your employment; whether you need help to find work that fits around your caring responsibilities or if you need help to keep your current job.
💥Session lead by Jo Evans from Impact Workability, and Susanna Curwen from Aldingbourne Trust WorkAid.

BBC TV EDUCATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Starting on Monday 11 January, each week day on CBBC will see a three-hour block of primary school programming from 9am, including BBC Live Lessons and BBC Bitesize Daily, as well as other educational programming such as Our School and Celebrity Supply Teacher and much loved titles such as Horrible Histories, Art Ninja and Operation Ouch.

BBC Two will cater for secondary students with programming to support the GCSE curriculum, with a least two hours of content each weekday.

You can always RECORD the episodes to view at a later date/time.
