An opportunity to chat to the pastoral team at TAS about local services and resources which can support students and parents alike with their mental health and well-being. Tea and Cake served from 3.15pm! Please come in through reception.

We are supporting World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2023.
Students can substitute items of school uniform for a yellow one, e.g. yellow tie for a school tie or yellow socks!

We will permit students to wear a yellow t-shirt or jumper over their school shirt and under the blazer.

We are excited to introduce an the Inktober Art Challenge! This creative initiative is a wonderful chance for students and staff alike to embrace their artistic side and have a bit of creative fun.
Inktober is an art challenge that encourages participants to create a series of drawings throughout the month of October, using only ink. The only "rule" is that the final drawings must be created using ink, whether it's biro, gel pen, fountain pen, marker, or any other ink-based medium.
Students will gain house points for sharing with Miss Reeves by hand or via email [email protected]
Remember, Inktober is not limited to those pursuing GCSE Art; ANYONE CAN DO INKTOBER! All it takes is picking up a pen and starting to draw.

Apply to join the The Academy Selsey Marine Ecology Club!

This year we will be gaining internationally recognised qualifications in Marine mammals and local focus on rockpool fish.
We will be undertaking trips to do a mini survey, egg case hunt, and beach clean all at Selsey in the Spring and Summer terms.
We will meet weekly on Wednesday afternoons 15:00 to 16:00 Rm 11.
Start date November.

Complete a 50 words/poster/picture on “Why the sea is important to me” and send it to [email protected] from your school email, or hand me a copy in person! Places are fully funded for by Mulberry Marine Experiences!

Next week sees the start of Year 11 mock exams, students have already been given their exam timetable - we have posted these as a reminder here along with a reminder of how parents can support with revision.
These exams provide an excellent opportunity for practice and also to identify areas to improve - and as a result, must be taken seriously.
We wish all the year 11s the best of luck! 😀

To celebrate the European day of Languages on Tuesday, Ms Alonso and 8 Arun are hosting a bake sale in the Junior foyer during both breaks. At TAS we have many students who use English as a second language and we enjoy the chance to recognise these students through events like this!

Remember your £1 for Jeans for Genes day tomorrow. We are asking for donations of £1 in exchange for being allowed to wear a pair of jean trousers to school instead of the usual school trousers or skirt.

Students will still be expected to wear their shirt, tie, blazer and normal school shoes.

The School Council would like to invite all staff and students to take part in Jeans for Genes day on Friday 22nd September. We are asking for donations of £1 in exchange for being allowed to wear a pair of jean trousers to school instead of the usual school trousers or skirt.

Students will be asked to pay £1 which will go directly to the Jeans for Genes charity. This can be paid via our ParentPay App or by bringing £1 to school on Friday, 22nd September.

Wow, what a whirlwind week it's been! We've officially survived the first week of school, and I couldn't be prouder of our incredible students. 🙌

We are excited to share our new extracurricular timetable. The program starts on Monday, September 11th, and all activities are free. Students just need to show up to join in. Tutors will provide more information to students during morning tutor sessions.

Additionally, there will be a late school bus running on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to support as many students as possible in engaging with these extracurricular activities.

Welcome to our NEW students, we hope they have enjoyed their first few days. Please find letter which was sent home with students this afternoon of how to access our school communication systems.

Are you ready to return?
To ensure students have all they need to be successful in their learning. Please refer to our essential '5 a day'. Our basic expectation is that they have a pen, pencil, rubber, ruler and pencil sharpener.

Admissions for September 2024 - We are excited to announce the date for our Open Evening - Thursday 28th September, this is ideal for Year 5 and 6 students to come and have a look around.

And that’s a wrap for Summer School 2023! We are so proud of the way our new Year 7 have started their journey at TAS. We enjoyed English, Maths, Science, House Competition, First Aid, Badminton, Tennis, Arts & Crafts, Football, Drama, Cake Decorating, Music and more! Excited to welcome all of Year 7 on 4th September.
