Personal Statement tip no. 2!
Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to be posting some tips for anyone writing a personal statement. I'll start with a simple but very important one: Start early!
Watch this space for more tips.

If you're writing a personal statement as part of a UCAS application and want useful feedback from an Oxbridge graduate, you can get in touch via my website: joefoyetutoring.co.uk
As well as giving a unique insight into personal statements and Oxbridge interviews, part of my aim with this project is to help demystify Oxbridge. So if you, or someone you know, has any questions about life or study at Oxbridge, you can send them to [email protected] and I'll do my best to answer them all!
The personal statement forms a central part of any UCAS application. It’s your chance to catch the admissions team’s eye by showing, in 4000 characters, why you’re passionate about your subject. If done well, it can help you secure an interview or offer from a top university.
With the deadline for Oxbridge applications just 2 months away, you might already be in the process of writing your personal statement. Having been an applicant myself, I know that perfecting those 4000 characters can be tough. I want to use my experience to make the process easier.
I’ll work with you to develop your personal statement into something you’re proud of. I’ll sit down with you to discuss the content as well as giving verbal and written feedback on each draft you send me covering content, style and grammar.

Having finished my degree in lockdown, I’m excited to announce that I’m now offering tutoring.
I’m offering tutoring in subjects including GCSE English and Maths, and A-level Philosophy and Religious Studies. I can tutor in person or online, and will happily work one-to-one or with small groups. You can find lots more information about me, including a full list of subjects I tutor, on my brand-new website joefoyetutoring.co.uk which you can find on google.
This is something I’m really passionate about, so if you know anyone who’s looking for a tutor, please point them my way. If you’re interested in tutoring, you can email [email protected] or drop me a message and we’ll arrange a time to have a chat about what you’re looking for.
