Finally back home and collected my masters certificate and I’m feeling so proud! 🎓🌟 Learned so much that I can't wait to put into action. Don't underestimate the hard work of research! "
I was unpacking last night and I found this.
A leaving present from a colleague, given to me last academic year.
This time last year was tough and I was unhappy.
I would always do my best for team though. You never know who you are inspiring 💜
Teaching the PYP can be magical but also a lot to take in.
My latest blog shares some simple teaching techniques which may help simplify the process.
It’s all about keeping things simple and being the best you can be.
Heartbreak for the Lionesses💔
The Lionesses will not compete at Paris 2024, despite an impressive 6-0 win against Scotland yesterday.
It looked like the victory would be enough to secure their ticket, but the Netherlands managed to score a 95th minute fourth goal against Belgium, pushing the Lionesses out of the Nations League final and therefore out of a place at the Olympic Games next year.
Just as they were celebrating in post-match huddle, their Olympic dreams were shattered.
❌ BUT it didn’t have to be this way ❌
Did you know that 16 teams are allowed to compete in men’s football at the Olympics, while only 12 women’s teams make it through?
Women were only allowed to compete in football at the Olympics in 1996, almost a century later than men’s football was introduced to the Games.
By the time women’s football was part of the Olympics, the IOC had limited teams to only 12, but the men’s competition was never reduced to meet the limit.
If the Lionesses were a men’s team, they may have secured their spot in Paris already, simply due to more teams making the cut.
Women are being punished for being late to the party, but it was never our choice📣
Another awesome kids class at Checkmat Hangzhou.
Our mini ninjas make us proud every week with their progress and as they dedicate more time to training, they earn stripes 🤩

An amazing group of PE legends!
Lionesses manager Sarina Wiegman says it's only a matter of time before women are coaching men's teams in the professional game - and "more will follow" 💪
I’m privileged to have the opportunity and also proud of myself for continuing to say yes to challenges which are thrown my way.
I know I will learn so much this weekend as I engage with an amazing PE community.
Our mini ninjas are still training and having fun.
A special congratulations to two superstars ⭐️ who were awarded their first stripe last weekend. This symbolises hard work, dedication, resilience and passion!

🌟 Feeling blessed to be part of an amazing school 🏫 that truly prioritizes emotional well-being! 💚💛❤️ And guess what? I found an incredibly simple yet effective way to weave this value into my lessons: Hula Hoop Bottle Check-ins! 🤸♀️🥤
Here's how it goes: Each student places their water bottle in one of three hula hoops, expressing how they're feeling that day. 💚 represents feeling fab, 💛 stands for "I'm okay but not great," and ❤️ signifies "I'm not doing good today." It's a quick and visual way for students to express their emotional state without uttering a word. 📢
This small practice carries so much weight in acknowledging our students' emotions and fostering a supportive environment. By embracing this simple technique, we cultivate a space where their emotional well-being is valued and nurtured. 🌈
Let's raise a toast to our school's dedication to emotional wellness! 🥂 Together, we're making a positive difference, one hula hoop and water bottle at a time. Cheers! 🎉💚💛❤️
