Our Story

The Kumon Frimley Study Centre offers maths and English support to students from three years of age to A-levels and is popular with students from the surrounding schools in the area as well as schools in Lightwater and Bagshot.
The centre has been established for over fifteen years nurturing many maths and English completers over the years. Most of our students have been enrolled with the Kumon programme for several years and are a testament to how much their daily Kumon practice supports their academic progress.

Our goal is for each student to become confident, independent self-learners. We use the classroom as a ‘training ground’ to develop these key abilities as well as their academic skills. Alongside the Instructor, Anjana there is a team of fully trained tutors who are able to guide each student to help them achieve their very best.

Our study centre has a comfortable waiting room for parents to wait for their child to complete their work. The centre has a designated and contained early-learner area for our young students to receive more one-to-one support. We also aim to encourage a passion for reading in all of our students, with books available for them to read in class from Kumon’s Recommended Reading List.

The achievements and accomplishments of our students are recognised daily at our centre. We want our students to leave each class day feeling ‘smarter’ and more confident in their abilities. Each year we hold a ceremony to celebrate and recognise students’ outstanding achievements. These ceremonies are attended by most of our Kumon families and students as well as local teachers from neighbouring schools.
