Last week, in science, Year 6 β‘ produced information pages on electricity before exploring various different types of circuits during a visit from Farnborough 6th Form College. In tennis lessons, they took part in ball familiarisation tasks πΎ before focusing on the forehand stroke. πΎ
This week in year 5 we have been really creative with our learning! π‘ We have made circuits in science β‘, learnt how to use a saw accurately in DT π¨, and practiced our backhand groundstroke in tennis πΎ.
Year 5 have been busy finishing off their maths topic on division and are now working hard to multiply fractions. Whilst, in PE they have been practising their forearm technique in tennis πΎ and managing successfully rallying in pairs π€.
Y6 have had a good first week back after half term! π In PE, they have enjoyed putting together their own hip hop dance routines π. In geography, they explored 6-figure grid references using their own PacMan designs.
Year 3 have had a great first week back! π We started off the week as archaeologists and explored the tomb of Tutankhamun to find out more about him for our Writing, Reading, and History lessons ποΈ. We have also been putting together different moves in our dance lesson to create a routine π.
Thank you to all the parents and members of our local community who came to our fantastic art exhibition last week. π¨ We had a great turnout, and received lots of positive feedback on the childrenβs artwork. ππ

They first learnt about different types of cells π¦ before using microscopes π¬ to examine animal and plant cells π±π¬. It was really interesting and the children learnt so much from this hands-on experience.
The children in Year 5 have had another busy week π. In English, they have been writing non-chronological reports based on their imaginative planets πͺβοΈ. Meanwhile, in PE, they've been having a blast with basketball π and dance π.
Year 6 have been learning about The Blitz in history π, using primary and secondary sources to develop their understanding π§. The Blitz has also provided inspiration for some excellent collages in their art lessons this half term π¨π.
Year 4 have been introduced to their new writing unit with blackout poetry. They chose key vocabulary in a given text to make their poems suspenseful and exciting π βοΈ
Last week, year 6 enjoyed a brilliant careers session with an Aerodynamics Engineer from McLaren's F1 team. πβοΈ This week, they have created classification keys in science π¬π, and in PE, they have started to apply their dodgeball skills to game situations. ππ
Year 5 π scientists π§ͺ last week, and conducted an experiment to understand the apparent movement of the sun π and how shadows
Year 3 has had lots of fun last week! We loved conducting an experiment to observe and classify different rocksπ¬. In PE, we practiced our dribbling skills and used different passes in basketball π We have also spent some time looking at how life has changed throughout history.
In Year 4 π, we have been exploring Sound π and how it travels. The children had great fun creating their own paper telephones π and explaining how they worked scientifically. π§ͺ
3! 2! 1! π Blast Off! π Year 5 became astronauts for the morning and used VR headsets to blast off into space to discover asteroids, stars, moons, and planets. ππ The children had an amazing time during this immersive experience, which brought to life our learning. ππ«
Year 6 have been enjoying their WW2 learning in history ππ. So far, they have explored why WW2 started π€π₯, looked at the countries involved ππ€, and created iMovies based on the Battle of Britain π¬βοΈ. In PE, they have been developing throwing skills in dodgeball π€ΎββοΈπ΄ and honing their passing and dribbling skills in hockey ππ. Keep up the fantastic work, Year 6! ππ
Year 4 have been fantastic Geographers this week! πΊοΈ They have been locating countries of Europe using four-figure grid references and working collaboratively together π€
At the end of last term, these avid readers π joined Mrs Wright in the LRC for π° and βοΈ. We enjoyed talking about our favourite books and also read "Snapper" together, after the book was donated to us by Waitrose at Bagshot. πβ¨

Year 5 had an amazing end of term treat. π They sang carols around the campfire π₯, roasted marshmallows, drank hot chocolate β, and enjoyed delicious chocolate biscuits. π« We are so proud of how hard they have all worked this term! π Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas! ππ
Year 3 have had lots of fun last week in Art experimenting, planning, and making dragon eyes out of clay. π¨π We used different techniques to create the effects we wanted, like rolling, scoring, and joining.
