What is Tapping?
It’s a combination of ancient acupuncture and more modern psychology.

It’s a scientifically proven technique that works to rewire the brain.

Tapping on certain meridians or energy points, sends calming signals to the amygdala, the fight or flight stress center of the brain.

Who Cares for the Carers?
Many of us are thrown into caring for a loved one through no choice of our own.
Others embrace their Carer’s duties and feel privileged to care for their loved one.
Wherever you are on the scale, there’s no doubt that caring for a loved one can be stressful, exhausting and often very lonely.
We love someone- we naturally take care of them. Especially as women We’ve been trained to care for others our entire life.
If a family member becomes sick, has mental problems, develops a chronic illness, is recovering from substance abuse or needs some help to live their life, we fall into being their carer.
Taking care of your own mental, physical and emotional health is paramount.

What is stressing you out?
It may be financial troubles, business worries, anxiety about health, kids, parents…..
We all have countless problems that we need to deal with.
The trouble is that we tend to go for quick fixes and jump at solutions that may not serve us when we are reacting.
When we are not in the ‘driving seat’ of our life we can easily feel as if everything is out of control.
When you wake up, spend a couple of minutes just breathing consciously.
Sit up and take a few slow, deep breaths.
In through the nose for three and out of the mouth for five.
Just centre yourself.
Hand on heart.
Breathe.
A few moments of peace before the madness of your day begins.
Use this technique as you go through your day, whenever you notice yourself getting stressed or anxious.
I realise it may not be possible for you to start your day like this if you have little ones clambering over you or you have teenagers to shovel out of bed ……. but if you could start to break the pattern of reacting to overwhelm by taking a few minutes to focus on you ….. who knows what may happen!

Gratitude is big in the self help world these days.

As a dutiful daily practice
I’ve been writing in my gratitude journal on a regular basis.
Hasn’t changed a darn thing!

I’ve listed lots of stuff in my life that I’m totally grateful for …..
my list includes things like ….
I’m grateful for my comfortable bed. 🥰
I’m so happy and grateful for my gorgeous girls. 🥰
I’m so grateful for my warm home. 🥰
I’m happy and grateful for the cash in my bank account. 🥰
This statement around gratitude doesn’t really resonate with me.
I don’t get in touch with any feelings when I write my lists. It’s like an automatic, robotic, times table like list!
It’s as if I’m one step removed from the person writing the list.

As an EFT Coach I’m trained to work with feelings. I know that getting in touch with our emotions around any healing work increases the power of any inner work we do.

How can I get in touch with my emotions around gratitude?
Feeling thankful, feeling loved, feeling appreciation, feeling those grateful feelings.

I’ve started to change how I go about it.

My list now focuses on Appreciation.
I appreciate my comfortable bed. 🥰
I really appreciate my warm and stylish home. 🥰
I deeply and completely appreciate the way my daughter shares her love with me on our daily calls. 🥰
I truly appreciate the cash in my account. 🥰
I really appreciate the folks who engage with me on Instagram. 🥰
I connect more deeply with each statement and feel a warm glow of gratitude about my life.
A simple tweak but it works so much better for me.
