Tennis Time 🎾

Pre-Schoolers at our Bury St. Edmunds site got into the spirit of Wimbledon last week! 🍓

The children grew in confidence in their ability as they developed their hand-eye coordination by playing mini-tennis matches in pairs.

Last week some of our pre-schoolers drew self-portraits showing how they were feeling and were encouraged to speak about their different emotions. ☺️😢

Talking about both positive and negative feelings with your child is effective as it validates the emotions they are feeling, making it real and easier to self-control.

⚽ Sports Session ⚽

Pre-Schoolers at our Bury St. Edmunds site enjoyed getting sporty last week! The children had lots of fun taking turns using the bow and arrow and throwing the balls at the target. ⚾🏹

Some of our Pre-Schoolers have been busy making their own beautiful flower pots! 🌺

They also had lots of fun playing spot the ant in the roses. 🌹🐜

Kids Play toddlers have been cooling off with an ice painting activity! 🧊🎨

The toddlers enjoyed discovering how ice is made, what it feels like, and how the coloured ice mixes and creates new colours when it melts.

Kids Play Babies celebrated World Ocean Day last week by exploring sea animals frozen in ice! 🧊

The babies loved trying to get the animals out of the ice and the feeling of it melting in their hands. This activity could also be a great way to try and cool off at home during this heatwave! 🌞

It's Aromatherapy Awareness Week, and the Kids Play Bury St. Edmunds Day Nursery & Pre-School baby room is smelling wonderful! 🍃

The babies enjoyed experiencing different smells and textures from an aromatic tuff tray of various herbs and spices.

Some of our Pre-Schoolers helped to save a bee from the garden this week! 🐝

The children gave the bee a sugar and water mixture and learned how bees collect nectar and pollen to make honey. 🍯🌸

Toddlers at Kids Play have been getting stuck into glueing and sticking activities!

The children enjoyed applying the glue and sticking various materials to the paper, such as feathers and pompoms.🪶

The Kids Play Bury St. Edmunds Day Nursery & Pre-School Pre-Schoolers had a very exciting visit from the guinea pigs last week! 🐹

The children discussed what the guinea pigs like to eat and drink and how to care for them. Some even enjoyed petting the guinea pigs! 💙

Toddlers at Kids Play have been busy using mirrors to try and draw what they look like.

The children were so excited to see their reflections and were able to recognise different features and colours when looking at themselves! ✏️

🌳FOREST SCHOOLS AT CAMP KP🌳 During our fantastic Easter Day Camps, the children at Camp KP took part in an exciting Forest Schools Session! The children gathered wood to build a fire and toasted some yummy marshmallows!🍢🔥

🐇EASTER CREATIVITY🐇 The children at Kids Play Childcare have recently been taking part in lots of creative activities across the nursery rooms!

🌷Our babies decorated Easter bunnies with flowers they had picked
🐣Our toddlers made Easter cards and explored an Easter-themed sensory tray
✂️Our pre-schoolers practiced using scissors when cutting out Easter Egg shapes

🐰KIDS PLAY EASTER EVENT🐰 We recently held an Easter Event alongside our April Open Day for children and families to enjoy! 🐣 The children loved the Easter-themed activities including egg arts and crafts, decorating Easter biscuits, and eating yummy hot cross buns!🍪

❤️COMIC RELIEF 2023❤️ At Kids Play Bury St. Edmunds we recently celebrated Comic Relief and held our annual bake sale🍰 We raised a total of £171 for the fantastic cause!🙌🏻🔴
